@BelongAU I’ve been waiting 10 days to get my nbn connection and just been told it will be another “2 to 5 days”. Apparently your systems connecting to nbn have been broken for 2 weeks. Any idea when they’ll be working again?

@andrewglynch Having left the Uk in 2006 and returned in 2019, the biggest difference I’ve seen is that no one cares anymore. Everyone puts the minimum effort in. But with over a decade of increasing corporate profits and no pay rises, is there any wonder?

We’ve reached peak phone - iPhone users will upgrade less frequently, like they do their laptops, i.e. when they break, when the battery or performance is hurting, or when there’s a generational shift in technology.

So the tech is cool for a certain demographic, but not the average user, and every other improvement is relevant to just a tiny fraction of the user base. Slightly faster chips? Slightly better cameras? Dynamic island?

I see the tech press parroting Apple’s “supply chain issues” for the drop in iPhone, but no one seems to be saying that for the average iPhone user there’s been nothing new to make upgrading worthwhile.

Traditionally left-wing parties now have platforms that would have been considered centre-right 30 years ago, and traditionally right-wing parties now have what would have been considered extreme right policies.
