H1B, F1,L1, E3, and TN holders locked in interest rates below 2% during COVID for 30-year mortgages — while Americans struggled to get loans. Banks gave these mortgages to people with 3‑year work permits. It should have been for citizens and green card holders only. Around 1 million homes were bought by temporary visa holders. Many are now walking away, leaving banks with losses. This is a sovereignty issue.
