I’d like to see who’d give me a standard 9-5 job when I: - spend all day fighting to stay awake, falling asleep every 2 mins. - have one week of chronic migraine each month. Combined with PMDD. - have frequent myositis flare that render me immobile. - need frequent time off for appointments. - am housebound, relying on deliveries and my partner for supplies. - have a 15 year gap in employment due to chronic illnesses. And don’t say: “if you can tweet, you can work.” Firing off a few tweets a day is not comparable to a 9-5 job. I don’t know anyone who gets paid to tweet rants a few times a day. I’m on my own path, setting up a digital art business to fund my writing + living. I’m the boss. I choose my hours. I won’t bully my body all the way to the grave like the system expects us to.
