Shortly after 1000 hrs, @BaltimoreFire responded to the 3800 blk of W. Patapsco Ave. for a dwelling fire. Upon arrival, units reported fire showing from the 2nd Fl. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire. No reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Baltimore City Fire Department was proud to welcome Siyon Mack as Fire Chief for the Day. Siyon had the opportunity to shadow Chief Wallace alongside a few BCFD cadets as he toured department facilities, met members of the department, and got a behind-the-scenes look at the responsibilities of leading a major public safety agency. From learning about daily operations to seeing the dedication of our firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics up close, Siyon represented the role with confidence, curiosity, and pride. Smoke alarms save lives, but only when they are installed, tested, and working properly. Make sure you have smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms, and outside sleeping areas. Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and anyone with medical conditions. The Baltimore City Fire Department reminds residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, and check on neighbors, family members, and pets. Know the signs of heat-related illness, including dizziness, heavy sweating, nausea, confusion, weakness, or fainting. Move to a cooler place, drink water, and call 911 immediately if symptoms become severe or if someone may be experiencing heat stroke. Stay cool. Stay hydrated. The annual Maryland Fire-Rescue Services Memorial was held in Annapolis, where thousands gathered to honor ten public servants who gave their lives in service to their communities. Among those honored were two members of the Baltimore City Fire Department: EVD Charles Mudra, Line of Duty Death, May 16, 2025, and Lt. Mark R. Dranbauer, Jr., Line of Duty Death, May 17, 2025. Members of the BCFD Command Staff, Local 734, and Engine Co. 5 escorted family members during the ceremony as each honoree’s name was revealed on the Memorial. The BCFD Honor Guard also joined numerous other agencies in presenting the colors and providing ceremonial honors. Shortly after 1500 hours, @BaltimoreFire responded to a water rescue on the 700 blk of Pratt St. Upon arrival units located one adult male in the water and immediately activated the BCFD Dive Team. Divers entered and conducted a rapid search, successfully locating and removing the patient. EMS personnel provided on‑scene medical care and transported the patient to a local hospital.
