Deep in the Government’s new integrated transport strategy is a truth at odds with the rhetoric: driving a car has gotten cheaper in real terms, and public transport has gotten more expensive. The Government is also clear that this will mean more traffic and more congestion.

This Elections Bill is progress. But we cannot restore trust in politics while crypto donations - direct or indirect - remain legal. If we are serious about taking the dark money out of British politics, we must bolt that door. Regulators like the Electoral Commission & National Crime Agency are very clear. As it stands today, crypto donations are un-policeable. That leaves us open to bad actors and bad nations. I’m optimistic ministers will act after the Ryecroft Review. But we’re readying amendments to help make the case.
The selections for Labour candidates needs to be more democratic and we should end NEC impositions of candidates. Local Party members should select their candidates for every election.

So govt finally coughs it up, the whole "it'll cost £100 billion to nationalise the water industry" is totally bogus, complete and utter made up nonsense. As we always knew, no matter what ministers claimed, @Defra today has finally published their methodology confirming that their calculation does indeed use @Ofwat's factious, made up, notional value for the water industry, their regulatory capital value, you know, the one that claims that @thameswater is worth a staggering £21,008,425,000. What a complete and utter shambles. No doubt ministers will be keen to apologies for wilfully misleading the public.
