Nobody in American tech has wasted capital the way Meta Platforms $META has over the past decade. It sits alone at the bottom. The simple cause is Mark Zuckerberg. This company is not public in any real sense. Shareholders own the bulk of the economic interest, but they have no say. Zuckerberg is locked in total control with super-voting shares. No one can push back.

Markets across the board lifted hard yesterday afternoon after word spread that private equity firm Silver Lake was in talks to buy software giant Workday $WDAY for an undisclosed price. Workday $WDAY trading stopped more than once as the swings turned wild enough to force halts. Enterprise software names moved higher at the same time. Figma $FIG rose. Adobe $ADBE climbed. Salesforce $CRM joined in. People now hope the value Silver Lake saw in Workday $WDAY, might exist in other software stocks that have been beaten down for a while. I have long doubted the big claim that SaaS faces total ruin. Plenty of software firms stand to gain from AI growth. Make alot of money, not for luxury, but for control. A man with money bows to nobody, I said nobody.

99% of investors need to stick with passive investing. The only ones who should do anything else are those with academic training or industry experience. They can avoid the usual mistakes that wreck portfolios. It does not matter how many times this gets said. People still want to pick stocks. Alright. Pick some stocks. But always put a good chunk of the money into low-fee, broad-market ETFs. Those work as the safety net. If the stock picking does not pan out, the ETFs are still there doing the job.

Good day, Money Market! The S&P 500 sits roughly 14% higher so far this year. That follows previous calendar-year jumps of 18%, 25%, and 26%. Average annual returns usually fall between 8% and 12%. Four big years back-to-back start to draw attention. Contrarian voices call the market rich. They point to weak returns on the huge data center buildout and reach for the old internet bubble comparison. A fresh Bloomberg chart pushes back. It shows S&P 500 year-ahead earnings projections rising faster than the index itself through 2026. Those projections are estimates only. They rest on earnings-per-share figures. Warren Buffett has long noted that profits can be opinions while cash is fact. Earnings include non-cash charges such as depreciation. The tech heavyweights that dominate the S&P 500 pour capital into data center hardware. That hardware gets depreciated. Most fear comes from the way we interpret events rather than from the events themselves. External things such as death, pain, loss of status, and other people's opinions are neither inherently good nor bad. Only the judgments we form about those things create fear. Good day, Money Market! Shares of the two largest neocloud names are surging this morning after Nebius $NBIS and CoreWeave $CRWV reported upbeat earnings. These firms buy large numbers of GPUs and data center hardware, then rent out the computing power to artificial intelligence companies and startups. They sit in the middle as a pure go-between. NVIDIA $NVDA supplies the chips and also invests in both, so it receives better terms than ordinary buyers. Demand for this rented power still runs well ahead of supply. That keeps the revenue engine hot. CoreWeave $CRWV now forecasts 150% revenue growth for 2026, bringing revenue to $12.8 billion. Nebius $NBIS aims for 500% growth and $3.2 billion in sales. Debt is the quiet problem. Both companies borrow heavily to keep buying hardware. Rising sales make the leverage look smart right now. Demand will not stay this strong forever. When it cools or when extra capacity finally arrives, the debt load will start to hurt. Investors will then want a clear path to real profits. Spending still dwarfs the cash coming in. CoreWeave $CRWV plans $37 billion in capital expenditures this year. In comparison, Nebius $NBIS plans $23 billion. These neocloud setups do not look built to last. Gold is trading at $4,412, up $45 this evening. We are getting back to strength coming during Asian trading hours, which is the way it was prior to the correction that started when the Iran war broke out. The correction is clearly over. Gold will likely soon be back above $5,000.
