@JosephMooneyMP FWIW: a lesson I learnt during PhD student days is that you get a FAR better perspective of the history of a subject seeing it unfold over time, first hand. You see why what happened as it did. Most scientists do for topics they follow (same for me, just different topics!)

@SimeonBrownMP Wildly misleading It corrects ~$100 million per year for IRD to do the work to be a cost. $800M is 4 years added up. It reduces the net gain each year by <4%, $5.35 *billion* to $5.15 billion. It’s still a $5+B gain, from wealthy people & large companies, not average taxpayers

@JosephMooneyMP Don’t claim it benefits all. Trickle-down theory & that claim is widely regarded as one of the greatest lies of politicians - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-d… In reality, overall benefits accrue upwards, and without balancing measures those at the bottom end up exploited.
