Build. Present. Learn. Improve. Session 12 of Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 brought together technical learning, hands on development, and participant presentations, with @Akshola00 guiding the session. Participants walked through their assignments, demonstrating their progress and receiving feedback to strengthen their work. The session also included a hands on wallet exercise, giving participants another opportunity to apply what they’ve learned and deepen their understanding of the Rust Bitcoin ecosystem. From Rust crates to a working Bitcoin wallet. ⚡ Session 11 of Rust for Bitcoin 2.0, guided by @Akshola00, introduced participants to key libraries within the Rust Bitcoin ecosystem and how they come together to power Bitcoin applications. The session explored rust-bitcoin, bitcoincore-rpc, and BDK, covering everything from Bitcoin data structures and transactions to communicating with Bitcoin Core and building wallet applications. The learning moved straight into practice as participants built a simple Bitcoin wallet, applying the libraries and concepts covered during the session. Another practical step forward as the cohort continues to build with the tools powering Bitcoin development in Rust. #TheBuidlGrid #RustForBitcoin

The cohort is getting deeper into building Bitcoin transactions. Sessions 7 and 8 of Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 focused on Bitcoin Transaction Construction, taking participants from understanding the building blocks of a transaction to creating and working with them in practice. With @damola21mm guiding the sessions, participants explored Bitcoin addresses, scripts, raw bytes, custom transactions, transaction signing, WIF, and P2PKH. The learning moved beyond theory through hands on exercises, where participants constructed, signed, and broadcast custom transactions on Regtest, while working through practical examples to strengthen their understanding of how Bitcoin transactions are structured and created. Two sessions of deeper technical work, stronger understanding, and more hands-on experience with Bitcoin. #TheBuidlGrid #RustForBitcoin

From mnemonic to wallet recovery, the cohort went under the hood. ⚡ Sessions 9 & 10 of Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 focused on Wallet & Key Management, giving participants a deeper understanding of how Bitcoin wallets generate, manage, and recover keys and derive addresses. With @0xGideonBature guiding the sessions, participants explored HD wallets, BIP32, BIP39, BIP44, mnemonics, seed generation, derivation paths, and Bitcoin address formats, alongside practical approaches to wallet and key management. The learning was reinforced through hands on exercises covering wallet generation, deterministic key derivation, address generation, and wallet recovery. By the end of the sessions, participants had a stronger practical understanding of the systems behind Bitcoin wallets and were better prepared to implement HD wallet functionality in Rust. #TheBuidlGrid #RustForBitcoin

From TheBuidl to the real world. ⚡ Our first session with @FundableHQ brought honest conversations, valuable insights, and a closer look at the journey behind building a successful product. The session featured @utility6141 and @aboogeeky representing @FundableHQ, with @kingfrankhood moderating and @Miryatukura heading the panel. From the importance of being in the right place and connecting with the right people to the value of community, the conversation highlighted lessons from the realities of building and growing a product. One message stood out: “Competition will take you nowhere. Collaboration is what works.” The @FundableHQ team also acknowledged the role of @the_buidl mentorship, support, and assistance in their journey, while encouraging members of the community to keep pushing and believing in the solutions they are building. A strong first edition, and a great reminder of what can happen when builders have the right community behind them. The cohort went deeper into Bitcoin transactions. ⚡ Session 6 of Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 focused on Bitcoin Transaction Parsing & Decoding, with @200OKDeveloper guiding participants through the next layer of working with Bitcoin transaction data. Building on the previous session, participants explored transaction inputs and outputs, TXIDs, transaction amounts, little endian byte ordering, VarInt encoding, and SegWit witness data. The session also moved into practice as participants parsed raw transaction hexadecimal and continued building and testing their own Bitcoin transaction decoder using Rust. Another practical step forward as the cohort strengthens its understanding of how Bitcoin transactions work at the byte level. #TheBuidlGrid #RustForBitcoin

Today, the cohort got hands on with Bitcoin data. ⚡ #RFBSession5 focused on Handling Bitcoin Data using Rust, with @200OKDeveloper guiding participants through working with Bitcoin Core JSON RPC, parsing and serializing Bitcoin data, decoding Bitcoin transactions, and using the bitcoincore-rpc crate. To bridge theory and practice, participants built a reusable RPC client that provided direct experience interacting with Bitcoin Core. This practical session deepened their understanding of Rust and Bitcoin integration, perfectly positioning them to utilize BitRPC—our native tool for seamless access to mainnet Bitcoin and Lightning RPC services—in our upcoming session. #TheBuidlGrid #RustForBitcoin
