Because hopefully people are starting to realise that chocolate, like almost everything in the Yookay, is basically a scam. Foreign corporations e.g Nestle flogging palm oil slop entombed in as much plastic and foil as possible. Eggs that aren't even shaped like eggs (they're flattened to minimise the amount of chocolate the customer gets). Weird sizing to hide the shrinkflation (what was once 200g is now some odd number like 187.5g). And finally, to add insult to injury, most of them refuse to do the chocoid-goo-slop the dignity of even calling it an "Easter" egg to pander to religious nutcases. Let them pretend to sell chocolate and I will continue to pretend to buy it.

My parents didn't own a car when I was a kid in the 1970s. I think that there were only two on the estate where we lived. We didn't have a landline 📞until the late eighties. The factory where dad worked got dragged down by the three-day week. Then, as kids, my brother and me thought that the Winter of Discontent was a right laugh. I wanted a dog, but we couldn't afford to keep one. My new duffel coat lost a few toggles after I was involved in a scrap at my primary school. I was on the end of a bloody good hiding for that. Dad did the football pools every week, but he never won a penny. The Avon lady called on a Wednesday night. The ice cream van came on the estate at four o'clock in the afternoon, every afternoon in summertime. I was allowed an ice cream once a week 🍦 I think we had our first barbecue when I was about sixteen. We ate meat pie, boiled potatoes and cabbage on Tuesday nights. If there was a James Bond film on TV, on a Sunday night, I was allowed to stay up and watch it, even if I had school the next day. I used to enjoy knocking on peoples front doors then running away, before the door opened. It was great fun, until I got caught. I was on the end of another bloody good hiding for that... Memories, eh!
