Agentic workflows only get unlocked by granting some leeway to agents to do increasingly complex or potentially dangerous tasks. But, there's a big difference between supervising one in Hermes or on your local machine, and putting your production keys and cloud credentials on a cloud agent box, and letting it run wild. "There’s no such thing as bad publicity" (the agent deleted your production DB, now your startup is dead), is not actually true in practice.

Cloudflare Workers is a dream for agentic software engineering. Current setup for max velocity & decent security: - Hermes + Grok-4.6 + Cloudflare API Key (with lots of permissions): use it for any infra setup, DB migrations, anything you want to monitor more closely or manually approve. Hermes will escalate for risky commands and enforce decent safety. And the key is local, on your own hardware, less risk of a cloud VM getting hacked and your infra getting nuked. - Github Actions CI + Cloudflare API Key: minimal permissions, only for code deploy, not DB migrations or infra setup. This reduces risk for the next step. - Grok Bots + Cursor: Use it for spinning up PRs fast, give it minimal Github access (just your project repo), and let it rip. CI is limited to only deploying code (not infra or DB migration changes) so you can move very fast with Grok Bot driven PRs and ensure a smaller blast radius. Create Engineer, Reviewer, QA, Researcher bots and you can have them run more complicated manual QA then you would ever reasonably orchestrate with Playwright or a traditional framework. Unexpected unlock again from Grok Bots being so damn fast vs. local Hermes. Similar feeling to Grok-4.5 vs. GPT-5.6 when it landed a few weeks ago. Speed at good enough intelligence is the new currency.
