There is just zero proof to back that claim. The narrative serves as a psychological shield for a regime humiliated by deep territory strikes. Propagandists want the world to believe that Russian airspace is impenetrable, meaning Ukraine could only hit northwestern targets by sneaking through the Baltics. This is complete fiction. The war has exposed a brutal reality for Moscow: its air defense network is plagued by massive gaps because it lacks the sheer volume of batteries required to protect a nation of that scale (which is normal). Through a combination of satellite data, SIGINT, HUMINT, and continuous testing through strikes, Ukraine maps out these blind spots with precision. There are clear, logical reasons why the Baltic airspace theory is impossible. Russian radar data and air alerts, which are documented, track the incoming drones flying directly over Russian soil. Furthermore, launching effective attacks against high value military targets like Kronstadt requires large swarms of drones. It is impossible to fly dozens of large and noisy drones through Poland and the Baltics without generating thousands of eyewitness reports and forcing an immediate closure of civilian airspace. Desperate for any justification, these online propagandists point to a few stray drones that have occasionally veered into Baltic or Finnish territory. Their arguments show a total ignorance of electronic warfare and basic aviation malfunctions. The border regions are saturated with intense Russian GPS jamming and signal spoofing. When hundreds or even thousands of semi-autonomous drones are deployed over time in such a chaotic environment, a small number will inevitably suffer failures and drift off target. Ukraine's track record also speaks for itself. Kyiv has repeatedly struck heavy industrial and military sites deep within Russia, including Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, and Moscow. None of these locations are anywhere near European airspace, proving that Ukrainian drones have the range and capability to strike Saint Petersburg. This is a pathetic fabrication by propagandists who cannot handle their master's incompetence
