Friends, today's post is on Anatta (Sk. Anatman), or 'non-self', and it is one of the central concepts in Buddhism, implying that there is no unchanging, permanent self, soul, or essence in living beings. This thought-provoking doctrine makes Buddhism distinct from all the other major religions, that revolve around the concept of God (e.g. Param-atman), Soul (Atman) or both. Contrary to other religious traditions, where an eternal and immutable soul or self is believed to continue after death, Anatta poses a compelling counter-view. It argues that our perceived 'self' is not fixed or eternal. What we consider the 'self', according to Buddhism, is a temporary assembly of physical and mental qualities, also known as the 'Five Skandhas': form, sensation, perception, mental formations, and consciousness - in simple language it will be -> body, mind and consciousness. These aggregates or Skandhas are not static. They are in constant flux, affected by various causes and conditions. They do not constitute a fixed, permanent 'self' or 'soul', challenging the common religious belief in a consistent personal identity. The concept of Anatta is intimately related to another core Buddhist teaching - that of 'anicca', or impermanence. This principle suggests that all phenomena, including what we perceive as our 'self', are continuously changing and transient. Anatta also influences the Buddhist view of Nirvana, the ultimate spiritual goal. Attaining Nirvana means understanding the truth of 'non-self', freeing oneself from the illusion and attachment to a false notion of self. This realization is considered a crucial step in liberating oneself from suffering or 'dukkha', which is seen as stemming from our attachment to the illusion of a persistent and independent 'self'. By focusing on the illusion of 'self' and the suffering that this illusion can cause, Buddhism offers a unique perspective on understanding our existence and the world around us, distinct from other religious traditions. In sum, Anatta invites us to contemplate the transience and interdependence of all things, and to see beyond the illusion of an unchanging 'self'. @DIVIZIO1 Aujourd’hui même, mon médecin de famille qui m’a dit que ce sera une conférence téléphone puisque je ne suis pas vacciné. Au téléphone il me disait qu’il ne veut pas courir la chance d’avoir une personne non vacciné a moins que ce soit vraiment important de se voir en présence.

@chambremontreal @Val_Plante La mairesse ne se soucie pas de ses employés en génie et scientifiques. Pendant la grève des scientifiques, environ 50% des chantiers sont en pause. L’entretien des infrastructures d’eau, d’égout, et des routes est en pause. Qui voudra investir dans une ville en désuétude?
