How Russian propaganda works abroad, in one sentence per layer: For the right: "Russia defends tradition." For the left: "NATO caused this." For the pacifist: "Weapons prolong war." For the cynic: "Everyone lies equally." For the tired: "It's complicated." Five contradictory messages, one output: do nothing. Russian propaganda doesn't need you to love Moscow. It needs you paralyzed — and it has a script for whichever ideology you brought to the table. Whenever a take ends in "therefore, inaction," check the return address.

When Polish protesters dumped Ukrainian grain from railway cars, I said that a day might come when Poland itself would need that grain. When Ukrainians are beaten in Poland, remember this too: a day may come when Poland asks Ukrainians to return. History teaches a simple lesson: an alliance with Moscow rarely ends well for its junior partner. Wherever the Kremlin gains influence, it leaves dependency, division and destruction behind. Russia exploits resentment, turns neighbors against each other, and walks away when the bill arrives. You cannot endlessly violate the basic rules of coexistence and expect no consequences. You reap what you sow. Russia sowed hatred and is already harvesting it. And it has helped sow plenty of resentment between Poles and Ukrainians as well. Now Poland is facing another problem: severe drought and water shortages have hit large parts of its agricultural sector. And who has traditionally supplied much of the seasonal labor Polish agriculture needs during harvest? Ukrainians. But after years of increasingly hostile rhetoric and a number of ugly attacks on Ukrainians, many Ukrainian workers have been looking farther west — toward Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and elsewhere. Polish farmers, meanwhile, have repeatedly warned about shortages of seasonal workers. Fruit left unpicked in the fields is not an ideological argument. It is economics. At the same time, some Polish farming organizations rage against Brussels, the Green Deal and EU regulations, portraying Europe almost as an enemy — while Poland remains one of the major beneficiaries of European funding. That contradiction is remarkable: block roads during the day protesting Brussels, then benefit from European subsidies that help keep Polish agriculture competitive. And then there is the almost biblical irony of Ukrainian grain. Remember the tractors blocking the Ukrainian border? Remember Ukrainian wheat being dumped onto roads and railway tracks? It was presented as a “sacred struggle” to protect Polish farmers and consumers from cheap Ukrainian agricultural products. Poland maintained unilateral restrictions on imports of several Ukrainian agricultural commodities. Time passed. Now Polish processors themselves are warning about shortages of raw materials. The Polish Association of Oil Producers (PSPO), representing the overwhelming majority of the country's oilseed-processing industry, has called for restrictions on Ukrainian rapeseed imports to be reconsidered. Polish processors say they need hundreds of thousands of tonnes of additional rapeseed. And here comes the absurd part. Ukraine can simply sell its rapeseed elsewhere in the EU. It can be processed there — and Poland can ultimately buy the processed products at a higher price. Economics has a brutal sense of humor. Meanwhile, anti-EU and anti-Ukrainian rhetoric continues because political ratings often matter more than common sense — in Poland, in Ukraine, and unfortunately almost everywhere else. The lesson is simple: When you dump someone else's bread onto the road, don't be surprised when one day you discover that you need the farmer who grew it, the worker who harvested it, and the market you spent years insulting. Hatred is an expensive crop. And sooner or later, someone always has to pay for the harvest.

🇲🇩🇷🇺 Russland hat in Moldau eine Blaupause entwickelt, um EU-Staaten von innen zu zerlegen – und exportiert sie bereits nach Frankreich und Deutschland. Das zeigt eine Recherche der New York Times, gestützt auf drei westliche Geheimdienstoffizielle. Sie zeichnet das bislang umfassendste Bild einer russischen Destabilisierungsoperation außerhalb der Ukraine. Ausbildung: Im Sommer 2025 richtete der russische Militärgeheimdienst GRU ein Lager in Serbien ein. Moldauische Rekruten lernten dort den Umgang mit Gewehren, das Durchbrechen von Polizeiketten und das Anzünden von Gebäuden – bezahlt mit 400 Dollar für einen drei- bis viertägigen Kurs. Parallel liefen Lager in Bosnien und bei Moskau; dort wurden über 100 junge Moldauer im Bau von Spreng- und Brandsätzen sowie im Drohneneinsatz geschult. Wer zögerte, wurde laut Zeugenaussagen von den Ausbildern geschlagen. Kirche: Seit Sommer 2024 wurden Hunderte moldauische orthodoxe Priester nach Russland eingeflogen. Sie unterschrieben als Mitarbeiter der kremlnahen Organisation "Evrazia" und erhielten Zahlungskarten einer mit Russlands Verteidigungsministerium verbundenen Bank – rund 1.000 Dollar dafür, von der Kanzel gegen den EU-Kurs zu predigen. Reuters hat das unabhängig mit einem betroffenen Priester bestätigt, der von einer "Pilgerreise" berichtete, die mit einer Zahlungskarte endete. Geld: Der flüchtige Oligarch Ilan Shor, in Moldau in Abwesenheit zu 15 Jahren verurteilt, rekrutierte vor der Parlamentswahl 2025 über 150.000 Moldauer gegen Bezahlung – rund 4,5 Prozent der gesamten Wählerschaft. Vor dem EU-Referendum 2024 flossen bereits 20 Millionen Dollar an 38.000 Rekruten. Insgesamt spricht die NYT von hunderten Millionen Dollar. Shor berichtet an Sergej Kirijenko, den stellvertretenden Leiter der russischen Präsidialverwaltung. Trotz allem gewannen pro-europäische Kräfte 2024 und 2025 knapp – vor allem dank der moldauischen Diaspora-Stimmen. Am 8. April 2026 flog dann ein verwandtes Netzwerk auf: Dieselben Lager in Bosnien und Serbien bildeten auch Leute für Destabilisierungskampagnen gegen Frankreich und Deutschland aus. Moldau war offenbar nie das Endziel, sondern das Testlabor. Straßengewalt, gekaufte Kanzeln, industrieller Stimmenkauf – dieses Modell ist längst exportfähig. Die Frage ist nicht mehr, ob Moskau es auch auf EU-Kernstaaten anwendet, sondern wie lange es dauert, bis es dort ebenso öffentlich wird wie jetzt in Moldau. Ceutan rajakriisin aikana Venäjän masinoimat sometilit alkoivat levittää Espanjan vastaista disinformaatiota. Äärioikeisto jakoi Venäjän näkemyksiä myös Suomessa Siihen osallistui jopa moni kansanedustaja ja ministeri. Ammattitaitoinen politiikko olisi osoittanut malttia
