Every student should know the 50/30/20 rule. But for students it should be 70/20/10: 70% needs (food, data, transport) 20% skills (courses, tools, books) 10% save (even ₦500 counts) Invest in yourself before you invest in anything else.

You do not need to be good to start. You need to start to become good. Pick one skill. Practice publicly for 30 days. Thank yourself later.

I started with writing. Worst thread I wrote got 12 impressions. Best thread I wrote got 600. The gap was not talent. It was 30 bad threads in between.

3 skills Nigerian students can learn with just a phone and data: 1. Writing (threads, emails, captions) 2. Design (Canva, social posts) 3. Research (VA work, data entry) No laptop. No course fees. Just YouTube and practice. Which one fits you? 👇

At 18 I thought success meant having more than my friends. At 20 I realized success means needing less than I thought. The less you need to impress people, the faster you actually build.

The biggest lie I told myself: "I will start when I have more time." I had the same 24 hours when I was broke. The difference was not time. It was deciding that my current season was not a waiting room.

Free tool of the week: Notion. I use it to track every naira I spend. No spreadsheet stress. Just a simple table on my phone. Search "Notion" on your app store. Takes 10 minutes to set up. Saves you from "where did my money go?" forever.

I used to think that budgeting meant having a salary. Then I learned the 3-jar system for students: 1. Spend jar - daily needs 2. Save jar - emergencies only 3. Invest jar - skill first, stock later Your allowance is small. Your system matters more. Which jar is empty now?
