@DaveNatoli86 @Scobey__ AFL unfortunately removed intention as a real factor. Now it's more based on outcome which is ludicrous. Most tackles don't intend to knock someone out or hurt them, but when 1 in 300 does, they get pinned. Crazy

@davidking34 5th in intercept marks last year 9th in intercept marks in 2024 1st in intercept marks in 2023 This year dropped to 29th, but if you aren't getting much heat on ball carrier and dirty ball in its so much harder to leave your man and impact. Maybe his being let down....

@PeteCulhane @doclarkins Completely agree that it could be, but its not the sole factor like everyone is saying. It could just as easily been that she just ran too close to the gate. She did the practice run the day before and finished 3rd. So not completely out of the relm.

@doclarkins Likely trying to take an aggressive line, gold medals are won off tight margins, .01 seconds makes it all. Like how formula 1 on a quali lap, makes all the difference. Champions live in chasing the 1%. She wasn't going there to just compete, going to win.

@doclarkins In fairness though, didn't look like a knee give out, she clipped the flag and got turned in mid air. From experience, 14 years with no ACL now and playing local football, no less confidence in that knee then the "good". Both can go at any time. but obviously much higher risk.

@kurt13warner But that goes against sports ethos, you compete to put yourself in the best position to win, playing for home field, if the higher seeds have nothing to gain, whats the incentive? You shouldn't be rewarded for finishing lower by playing in a neutral site, away from a teams home.

@DaveNatoli86 its an interesting one, how far back do u allow the Arc to go? 2 possesions? since the chain started, etc. I think the umpires should be connected to the arc & have an umpire in there giving them advice for those challenging calls. might mean there is a split delay on some calls

@DaveNatoli86 think it also highlights how being 5% either below or above your baseline really makes a difference these days. collingwood 5% below last week, 5% above this week. makes a huge difference when you bring the heat and are on.
