The obvious first-order effect of AI is that software teams can build more. What I keep thinking about is the second-order effect on buy vs build on both sides of the software market. For software companies, lower build costs do not automatically mean less buying or less M&A. They may also expand scope and increase supply of buyable companies because more small teams can now build meaningful businesses (potentially a Jevon's paradox there?). For customers, the question is whether they start building more of software they used to buy off-the-shelf, or shift toward vendors who can build bespoke more cheaply than traditional one-size-fits-all/production line software (think SalesForce). If that happens, pricing power, moats, M&A, and the advisory industry around all of those may start to shift too. Super interesting times! And we get to be part of it or at least watch it unfold! 😍

…also not true. It’s a symbolic act believed to remember/honor Abraham (Islam’s faith is self declared “the faith of Abraham”) who supposedly threw 7 stones at satan who tried to tempt him. Literally zero Muslims believe satan resides there. The scripture explicitly says otherwise. The act of throwing 7 stones at this location is performed only during pilgrimage at a certain time of year.

I remember landing in Malta years ago and (because I had no clue) starting to wonder if my plane food had an actual hallucinogen in it. I could understand nearly everything. It was mostly Arabic written in English/Latin script. Later I learned that Maltese is linguistically and historically a dialect of North African Arabic.
