@HailVarsity5x Yes I would imagine so! If you think about it less as “They allow a lot of threes” and more as “they don’t allow many twos” it can change the thought process
@pivot_tables Very well could be - I haven’t studied them as much as I have other teams. Would make sense with their shot blocking prowess to try to avoid the paint.
Great stylistic mismatch between Louisville and Michigan State. Michigan State protects the paint really well thanks to great shot blockers like Coen Carr and Jaxon Kohler, but they allow a lot of outside shots which could bode well for a Louisville team that takes a lot of 3s
Nebraska allows a lot of threes - about 50% of their opponents shots come from behind the 3 point line. Vanderbilt shoots about 44% of their shots from behind the arc. It will be a very interesting coaching matchup between Hoiberg and Byington.
Both St Louis and Texas A&M have a high percentage of their shots blocked, likely due to both teams shooting 2s incredibly close to the rim. Since they both play elite shot blocking teams, they will need to control the glass off of the blocked shots.
As one may expect - lots of mismatches between 1s and 16s
I am particularly interested in Purdue allowing a lot of threes while Queens attempts a lot of threes as well as UCLA not turning it over and UCF not forcing TOs
Arkansas vs Hawaii - Arkansas shoots a low number of threes while Hawaii suppresses the three point line
Michigan vs Howard - Michigan blocks a lot of shots while Howard has a lot of shots blocked
BYU vs Texas - Texas does not allow a lot of assists, while BYU does not rely on them at all
Gonzaga vs KSU - Gonzaga forces a lot of steals and blocks while KSU surrenders a lot of steals and blocks
