This film shows some of the countryside which could be plastered in solar panels if plans for the UK’s biggest solar farm are approved between Perth and Dundee on beautiful prime farmland in the Carse of Gowrie. It spans approximately 2,000 acres - equivalent to approximately 1,200 to 1,250 football pitches. Absolutely disgraceful. Rural vandalism.

I had two babies. With the first, I had a Scottish midwife, Fiona, whose deep kindness and gentle voice stays with me 30 years later. With my second, I had two African agency nurses with poor English. They clearly regarded me as a white wimp when I asked for exactly the same pain relief I’d had after my previous C-section. One yanked out my catheter. They were awful. Culturally so harsh and different to Fiona. It’s completely natural when you are in hospital feeling vulnerable to want sympathetic nurses who speak English. They can be any colour or religion but their sensibility must be British. Filipina nurses I have met are exceptional. Importing thousands of cheap nurses from alien cultures when so many of our own girls want to be midwives has been a calamity.
