@PolitlcsUK For context, we routinely screen for melanoma, osteoporosis, cystic fibrosis, haemachromatosis, abdominal aortic aneurysm, atrial fibrillation, coeliac, AxSpa, oesophageal & bladder cancer just to name a few. All of which affect the white population significantly more 👍

Although the UK scheme functions like a DB scheme, it isn't one as UK state pensions are not invested. So DB and DC does not apply to them. They are not really pension funds. They operate more as a tax.

@cammyk_67 @samhfinance The surplus is always spent. NI doesn't just fund pensions, but all sorts of other benefits and also partly the NHS. It is not really a "fund" as it isn't invested. It's just a pot of money to be distributed.
