So in summary we pay twice for the privilege of having our school kids taken to school in unsafe buses. I asked @FifeCouncil to explain the situation but they didnt reply.
Well it appears to be an attempt to evade @GMartinMSP s school seatbelt bill. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla… As service buses are exempt from the seatbelt requirement, If they had school buses they’d have to fit seatbelts and operators would have to supply more modern vehicles. (3/x)
Anyone can get on them and children with tax payer funded National entitlement cards get free travel. Yet Fife Council Tax payers pay £17m for school transport. So we are paying for a service that would be free anyway. Why do this?….🤔 centralfifetimes.com/news/24893440.… (2/x)
