BREAKING: Kansas has just been added to the number of states (20) that have passed the Convention of States resolution. The Convention of States Resolution has 3 subject matters: - Impose fiscal restraints on the federal government - Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and - Limit the terms of office for its officials and Congress. Currently, 20 out of the constitutionally mandated 34 states have successfully passed the Convention of States Resolution. With the national debt at a mind-bending $39 trillion, Washington has already spent roughly $530 billion in interest payments for FY2026. That works out to over $22 billion every week — just to service the debt. In sobering contrast, the Department of Defense had a budget of only $461 billion for that same period. Over the past six months, in other words, we’ve spent roughly $70 billion more on debt interest than on national defense. Forgive us for sounding like a broken record, but our national debt is slowly — or maybe not so slowly — killing us. It’s a message that bears repeating until lawmakers finally take action to steer our ship of state away from the iceberg. @RepThomasMassie Only the voters can drain the Legislative swamp. Many have tried to, including you. Congress is incapable of changing their dreadful course. The people need to force state legislators to pass a @COSProject resolution. Maybe if it gets passed you can be a part of Convention.
