And btw, the ability the store energy at night during off peak times to discharge during the day is a great way to be able to power more homes without needing more power plants. Grid connected battery storage reprsents a huge amount of underutilized capacity since how often are you dealing with an outage? I believe that is one of the key strategies the US will need to keep up with electricity demand. If you can be a part of that and maybe get a few bucks, that is something I would like to do. However, if there is a storm coming or some high likelihood of an outage, I would remove my batteries from that system temporarily. Some people who are more risk averse would just opt out of the program.
