@deans5hole I agree. Swapped Nichuskin for Marchment (slight net positive) and Lomberg for Jenner (slight net negative). After two years of barely missing the playoffs and two of your best players unsure of wanting to stay on a losing team, we basically are going to run the same team back.

@willie_lutz I am wondering if it’s just his agent who leaked that news to Weeks on air as a negotiation tactic. Dorofeyev had just been traded to NYR and signed an $11m/yr deal. Guessing initial talks with Wadell had a number much less than that, which prompted an orchestrated response.

@FinnMcCoolOH This is so odd. Not too many players announce this far ahead of time that they are not re-signing. Are there issues behind the scenes? I know that this can be a negotiation tactic but seems unnecessary to leak this info this far ahead of the end of the contracts.

@JodySchmidt Two seasons ago the #CBJ desperately needed the Canes to beat the Habs at the end of the year. The Canes sat all their good players and ended up losing, which ultimately cost the CBJ a playoff spot. Is that an extremely petty reason? Yes, ha. But it is what it is.
