Rent rises with inflation over time and outpaces W-2. The investable capital shrinks and you never eliminate shelter expenses. Buying a home uses leverage. Real estate rises with inflation and the cash on cash return of a mortgage exceeds traditional investments. Eventually, the house is paid for, shelter is eliminated, and they have an asset.

I'm a millennial hiring manager. This is what I actually look for on your resume: ▪︎ How does the whole picture lead you to me? Does your career path make sense and show that you are intentional? ▪︎ What statements demonstrate that you have high introspection and a commitment to improve? ▪︎ Who have you offered as a reference? I don't need to hear their opinion, which is always biased. I want to see if you have references of people that are more advanced than you, customers of yours, and colleagues you cooperated with. Their title will mean a lot if its authentic and proves their competency. ▪︎ Recognition for good work. This can come as awards, bonuses, honors, etc. But WHO the recognition comes from matters the most. Supervisor = ok. Professional organization/association = good. Customers = great. Passive income has a definition problem. Most people define it as: “Money you earn without working.” Or: “Money you make while you sleep.” Sounds appealing. But it is not useful. Because that definition gives you a desired outcome without giving you an action. It tells you what people want. It does not tell you what to do. A better definition: Passive income is the deployment of income-producing assets. That shift matters. Because now the question changes. Instead of asking: “How do I make money without working?” You ask: “What asset can I build, deploy, and let produce value without my constant involvement?” That is a much better question. Because passive income does not come from wishing for income. It comes from assets that have been deployed tactically. Examples: • A digital product • A rental property • A content library • A newsletter • A course • A software tool • A systemized business process The income is not the starting point. The asset is. Build the asset. Deploy the asset. Let the asset produce value. That is the real passive income framework. Passive income is not magic. It is asset deployment.
