Happy to explain, because this is the whole point. Freddy is not a hedge fund manager. He is an electrician, or a nurse, or a teacher, or he works at the Bosch plant down the road. What lets him take the month off is six weeks of paid holiday that he gets by law, a salary that has not been quietly eaten by medical premiums, and the comfort of knowing one illness will not bankrupt his family. He does not save for years to afford this. He just lives in a country that decided ordinary people deserve a real premium life outside the office. So you have answered your own question. The reason Freddy can do it and you find it baffling is the reason we keep going on about it.
