In 1982, Robin Williams did a routine as the American Flag for the Norman Lear produced tv special "I Love Liberty" created to bridge political divides - and it's one of the greatest pieces you'll see 🇺🇸
America burned Japan's first gift of cherry trees. All 2,000 of them, on President Taft's direct order.
The 1910 shipment arrived in DC crawling with insects and nematodes. Agriculture inspectors condemned the lot, Taft signed off on the bonfire, and the State Department braced for a diplomatic disaster. Tokyo's mayor, Yukio Ozaki, responded by sending 3,020 more, grafted from the famous grove along the Arakawa River.
Those trees have spent a century paying the friendship back.
Four days after Pearl Harbor, vandals chopped down four of them. Park officials renamed the survivors "Oriental" cherry trees for the rest of the war to protect them from axes.
Then came the twist. By 1952 the original Arakawa grove in Tokyo, the parent stock, had nearly died from wartime neglect. Japan asked Washington for help. The Park Service shipped budwood from DC's trees back across the Pacific and restored the grove that created them. When a flood wiped out more Japanese trees in 1982, horticulturists took 800 fresh cuttings from the Tidal Basin.
These 250 new trees solve a real problem too. The Tidal Basin is sinking, and a $133 million seawall rebuild forced crews to rip out roughly 150 trees. Japan offered replacements before anyone asked, timed to America's 250th birthday.
So the genetics run in a loop. Tokyo's grove seeded Washington's. Washington's saved Tokyo's. The saplings going in this spring descend from both.
114 years of diplomacy, running on grafted branches.
This is actually one of my favorite little videos I've ever done. We were doing a fashion shoot at the Salt Flats and we decided to try a patriotic gallop across the flats.
It was awesome! Seemed fitting to share for the 250th.
MUST WATCH
Two patriotic 85-year-old songwriters called the Forever Boys released a music video called “What Would You Do If America Needed You," in reaction to the recent election of multiple far-left communists.
The song calls on every American to preserve the principles and freedoms on which our country was founded.
POWERFUL 🇺🇲
They gave me permission to post and spread it to the world. Please share!
They call it optics. They call it vanity. They call it presidential theater designed to distract from “real” issues.
It’s actually something much simpler and more important: a president finally doing the Chief Citizen job that most modern leaders had abandoned.
For years, the default assumption in Washington was that national pride, civic beauty, and public celebration were secondary at best and slightly embarrassing at worst. Policy was serious. Everything else was branding. So monuments were left to decay, sports were turned into culture-war battlegrounds, and the idea that a president should actively make Americans feel good about their country was treated like a distraction from the “real work.”
Trump rejected that premise entirely.
He treats visible displays of American strength and unity as part of the actual work. Showing up at the biggest sporting events in the country, restoring the reflecting pool, putting major events on the National Mall, redesigning Air Force One so it actually looks like it belongs to the United States ... these aren’t side projects. They’re deliberate acts of national representation.
He’s using the presidency to remind people that decline was a choice, not an inevitability, and that the country is still worth showing off.
This matters most right now because America is about to turn 250. The moment requires more than budgets and executive orders. It requires someone willing to stand in the middle of the celebration and act like the country has something worth celebrating. Most recent presidents wouldn’t have known how to do that even if they wanted to. Trump does it instinctively.
They keep telling us it’s just spectacle. He keeps proving it’s leadership.

This might be President Trump's finest moment of all time.

This might be President Trump's finest moment of all time.
"We must never forget there is no American freedom without American culture and there is no American founding without the American people.
"A constitution is only as strong as the people and the culture responsible for upholding it."
"the United States of America will forever be the land of free men and women, and we will never, ever fail."
"Above all, Americans love freedom. We cherish independence, and we know that we are the heirs to the most beautiful land"
"In America, we do not need anyone's permission to say what we think and to live as we please, to worship as we choose, or to keep and bear arms."
Everything they taught you about July 4th, 1776 is a lie.
The Redcoats weren't soldiers. They were something else.

America turns 250 today.
Let me read back the resume.
We started by telling a king to pound sand, in writing.
By 1803 we bought half a continent from France for about four cents an acre.
We fought a war with ourselves and somehow stayed one country.
We strung a railroad across the entire thing.
We handed the world the lightbulb, the telephone, and the airplane in about thirty years flat.
Then a man named Willis Carrier invented air conditioning and made half the planet actually livable.
You are welcome, Texas. You are welcome, Dubai.
Twice the whole world caught fire, and twice we showed up and helped put it out.
We split the atom.
We put men on the moon in 1969.
Then we went back and hit golf balls up there, because why not.
We invented jazz, blues, rock and roll, and hip-hop, and the whole planet is still dancing to it.
We put a burger and fries on every corner of the earth.
We built rockets that fly themselves home and land standing straight up.
We flew a helicopter on Mars.
We launched a car into actual space and it is still out there cruising.
We also invented ranch dressing and somehow talked the entire world into putting it on pizza.
Priorities.
We even invented three of our own sports so we could win them.
Baseball, basketball, and football.
Real football, the kind with hands, because we named it and we are not taking corrections.
The rest of the planet can keep soccer, which is fine, we are hosting it in our backyard this summer anyway.
And yes, Canadian football exists, wider field, extra man, one fewer down, and we try very hard not to think about it.
Frankly it was generous of us to invent our own games.
If we put all that energy into soccer, nobody else would ever lift that trophy again.
We would win it so often they would just rename it the America’s Cup and hand us the keys.
You are welcome for the suspense.
And in 2026 we threw a birthday so big a German tourist live-tweeted our gas stations to 750,000 people.
Not every chapter was clean.
We argued, we stumbled, we fixed what we broke, and we kept building.
That is the whole trick.
Two hundred and fifty years in, and we are still the loudest, brightest, most improbable experiment on the map.
Not bad for a country that started as a strongly worded letter to a king.
Happy birthday, America.

A lot of the inconveniences of Barbara go away if Congress can deem it a denaturalizing act for a very young child to depart the country (with his/her parents) and take up domicile elsewhere.
🚨 MASSIVE VICTORY IN NORTH CAROLINA!
The NC Legislature just steamrolled the Democrat governor’s veto and slammed through a tough new law, NO MORE taxpayer-funded welfare, housing, or handouts for illegal aliens!
Plus, state law enforcement must now team up with ICE to get deportations done.
Taxpayers have been footing the bill for this madness long enough. Time to put American citizens FIRST!
Senate Bill 153 is now the law of the land.
Huge win for common sense in NC!
THE MOMENT SHE CHOSE NOT TO YIELD
On June 22 in a WNBA game, Sophie Cunningham walked toward the officials after a foul on her teammate.
She wanted to know why the call wasn’t applied evenly.
DeWanna Bonner told her to stop pointing.
Cunningham answered by refusing to comply. She kept her arm out. She held the stare. She stayed locked in for 22 full seconds while the play moved around her.
No raised voice. No extra words. Just sustained attention on the person who wanted the gesture to end.
That single choice turned a routine on-court exchange into the week’s dominant meme.
The clip works because it captures an entire dynamic in real time. Someone flags an inconsistency. The response is an immediate demand to drop it. Instead of folding under that demand, the person doubles down without fanfare.
Most people recognize the pattern from other parts of life. A question gets asked, a boundary gets tested, and the pressure arrives fast: lower the hand, move along, don’t make it awkward. Compliance feels like the safe, mature option.
What stands out here is the opposite move. Persistence without apology. Attention that doesn’t dissipate the second it becomes inconvenient.
The internet rewarded it instantly because that kind of unscripted refusal is rare in environments built around quick de-escalation and narrative control. In those spaces, sustained focus on anything uncomfortable often gets reframed as the real problem.
Sophie’s version stayed physical and wordless. It couldn’t be twisted into an argument. It was simply “I’m still here, and I’m still looking at this.”
That clarity is what made the moment travel. Viewers didn’t need context or explanation to feel the satisfaction of watching someone reject the instruction to stop.
The meme spreads because it models something people rarely see rewarded in real time: holding the line on a small point until the pressure to abandon it passes.
What detail in your own world have you noticed that quietly asked for the same kind of unbroken attention?
USAID could demonstrate 1.9% of its total spend went directly to food and healthcare programs. Everything else went to left-wing NGOs that paid the salaries of democrat donor children with useless degrees. It was one big slush fund that recycled into left-wing causes globally. Spare me.
Starting in early 2025, Elon Musk and the Trump administration began terminating USAID's programs and firing its staff — with Musk himself boasting about "feeding it into the woodchipper." One year ago today, USAID was officially dissolved, its remaining programs haphazardly
Here is the warning label they never attach to the socialist fantasy package:
Once you vote for “free everything,” you do not get to act surprised when the bill collector shows up wearing a federal badge.
That is the part nobody wants to say out loud. A country can survive bad slogans. It can survive stupid professors, campus Marxists, and rich politicians pretending they are storming the Bastille from the donor lounge. What it cannot survive forever is unlimited promises tied to unlimited demand and funded by an increasingly exhausted middle class.
Open borders plus universal benefits is not mercy. It is a countdown clock.
At first, it feels generous. Then the waiting lists grow. Then the taxes rise. Then the debt balloons. Then hospitals ration. Then schools overflow. Then housing gets tighter. Then the bureaucracy expands. Then the same people who promised abundance begin explaining why scarcity is your patriotic duty.
That is how the scam matures.
The revolution does not arrive with a hammer and sickle parade. It arrives as a form you cannot understand, a tax you did not vote for, a doctor you cannot see, a school that cannot cope, and a government office telling you to take a number.
And by then, the people who sold it will have moved on to the next slogan.
You cannot build a welfare state with no walls, no limits, no enforcement, no math, and no honesty. You can only build a machine that eats taxpayers, rewards dependency, imports demand, and calls the wreckage compassion.
Consider this the warning.
When politicians promise heaven with no invoice, they are not selling paradise.
They are pre-selling the collapse.

TR received his Medal of Honor posthumously in 2001 for leading the Rough Riders up San Juan Hill in 1898. His son earned his for storming Utah Beach on D-Day, the oldest man in the invasion force, refusing evacuation despite a heart condition and a cane.
Three days before America turns 𝟐𝟓𝟎, two Roosevelts' medals sat side by side for the first time in history.
