@Utahfarmersorg1 Your 500k+ AF "inventory" is flawed math (shocking). It multiplies max pump speeds 24/7 to invent 317k AF of groundwater (which would drain the aquifer), counts 119k af of unapproved paper applications, & double-counts 35k af of sewer water. SLC's real yield is ~80k-100k AF/yr.

@Utahfarmersorg1 61.7k shares? False context. The Metropolitan Water District of SLC & Sandy (not SLC alone) holds the 61.7k Deer Creek shares. Selling surplus water to neighboring areas isn't a profit game, UT law mandates cost-recovery rates that strictly cover treatment & infrastructure costs.

@Utahfarmersorg1 Did you not look at the SLCDPU inventory? It's online for all to see. waterrights.utah.gov/search/ SLC can't hoard water legally, Utah is a use-it-or-lose-it state for water rights. They own watershed land in the canyons so we have clean drinking water.

@Utahfarmersorg1 Do you know? Bc there's no verifiable data. And age isn't the only determining factor of whether lines need replacing. It's lazy to claim that age is the only important data. Lead fittings: about 1/4 of total fittings are unknown (possibly lead). The city is actively replacing.

@Utahfarmersorg1 SLC replaces 0.3 - 0.7% of its grid each year, completely typical of cities its size. Less than 20% of cities replace 1% a year, which is what's required to completely replace all lines in a 100-year span. The nat'l avg is 0.5-0.8%. SLC is totally normal in this regard.

@Utahfarmersorg1 I don't, just like facts over opinions. SLC doesn't "loot" funds, by law those enterprise funds are self-sustaining. SLC charges standard franchise fees on utility services, like every other major city. Your "looting" claim is a standard transfer practice.

@Utahfarmersorg1 No official figure of 65 billion gallons of real leakage from city dist systems appears in DWR data, Water Use reports, or major audits. Typical non-revenue water (losses) in UT systems runs in the 8–15% range, in line with national avgs of roughly 17–19.5%. UT is not an outlier.
