@KendraWrites I recently read a book that said that only Finnish girls score well on the tests and the boys do much worse. That info changes the conversation.

“‘It is a very conservative rock-bottom minimum,’ said Prof Jason Box from the National Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, who led the research. ‘Realistically, we will see this figure more than double within this century.’” theguardian.com/environment/20…

@pushtheneedle For out-of-town people coming to downtown Seattle/First Hill primarily for medical appointments, getting back to the freeway is panic-inducing. Good signage is a public service.

@mattyglesias When high school football is the only game in town, that’s what people are in to. Big cities have pro sports and small towns have high school sports. People feel connected to their local high school. It’s the center of the community and the kids there are not strangers.

@AdriSheares What are they searching for? Cute dogs? Sea shanties? Adhd self-diagnosis? The content range is pretty narrow.

@JacquelynGill @ScienceNotDogma I participate in various communities and it’s challenging because Americans simply do not know how to get along! Community ties are usually temporary and optional, which limits people’s willingness to compromise and manage disagreements. People just can’t stop fighting!

@yuhline @salianij @thedailybeast I knew Yuh Line at this time in her life. She was a hard working young public servant in Olympia. She wasn’t a rich kid and she certainly wasn’t an international financial schemer. The insinuations here are absurd.

@DirtNerder @TomMoyerUT My HVAC guy said it is most efficient if you keep the thermostat very stable and only change a degree or two at a time. He told me all my elaborate attempts to program my thermostat were actually wasting energy.

@JamesGDyke 1.5c has been unobtainable for quite a while. Telling people their lives depended on achieving an impossible goal is incredibly demoralizing. Continuing perpetuating this error is not helpful. A pivot is necessary.

@pushtheneedle It would be interesting to find out the history of how that parcel came to be protected and what the terms are. Obviously, we need to pack the area around light rail stations with density. The more the better.

@MsLorisStory @waOSPI I have kids in wa public schools and desperately want to see climate education. My elementary kids got earth day content on recycling only.

I want to make sure my 401k and IRA are not invested in fossil fuels. How do I do this? Are there special financial advisors who can help with this? The one we talked to acted like this was the craziest thing she had ever heard of! #divest #ClimateAction

Yuh-Line Niou @yuhline

“I am running to hold accountable the people who rigged our economy, trashed our climate, profiteered during a pandemic, and cheered on the rise of white supremacist violence like what we saw in Buffalo,” Niou said in her announcement speech.
