Different styles of leadership. There are many ways to win games, but the true measure is how you impact your players and who they become long after they leave you. I was lucky to have great coaches. I still call my last college coach a friend and recently golfed with him.

Coaches: As fall ball gets underway, remember this: If a regulated leader can create an environment in which athletes become more courageous, adaptable, curious and resilient…, an unregulated leader can create an environment dominated by fear, hesitation, self protection, and

@PRoBaseballAcdy Always just some good clean baseball, with the intent on developing a bunch of dudes that played the game the right way! Always. Carson would love to see you. We are gonna go out a few times, I’ll keep you posted. Where are you at in TX?

The right place for development may not be the place that offers you the most scholarship or NIL money. They may not have the best facilities or uniforms. They may not have the glitz and the glamour. But. They may give you the best opportunity to develop into the player you can be.

I've played professional baseball. I've coached collegiate baseball. I've evaluated thousands of high school players over the last 12 years. Here are a few baseball truths I've learned: • Failure is inevitable. How you respond to it is a choice. • The game rewards resilience far more than talent gives it credit for. • Body language is visibly LOUD. • You never know who's watching. • Talent gets you noticed. Consistency gets you recruited. • Nobody cares how good you were last week. • The players who blame others rarely improve. • Confidence comes from preparation, not motivation. • The game owes you nothing. • Coaches trust competitors before they trust tools. • Your teammates know if you're real. • Baseball has a funny way of exposing excuses. • The best players are usually obsessed with improvement, not attention. • Nobody remembers your excuses. They remember your actions. Build your floor. Chase your ceiling. ⚾️

Hardest thing to do in sports……

HITTING IS HARD You don’t hit .300 every day. You might go three weeks & hit .150 then have a week where you hit .600. I don’t love batting average as an indicator of if you are hitting or not but the players gravitate towards it. Most rather get a hit with a bad swing & bad EV

Love this. The game is hard enough as we all know, or I think most of us do….

Fellow coaches: We should never be a part of their nervousness. Their anxiety. Their fear. Their self doubt. They do enough of that to themselves. We NEED to be the leader they need. The person that helps them work through the hard. The person who teaches them how to deal with

Absolute gold on being coachable. One of my old college coaches once told me “O I think you will listen to a homeless man on the side of the street if you think he can help you be a better hitter..” & it was true! You should always look to find ways from everybody you encounter

Today's 98 mph is the equivalent of the Jugs gun 94 and the Ray gun 90. Don't be fooled by all these new wave velocity numbers. Velocity numbers are now comical. The overwhelming majority of college hitters don't have the bat speed to hit real 95+. The overwhelming majority of high school hitters don't have the bat speed to hit real 90+.

Tom Brady explains his mental edge and why practice (not gameday) creates separation. "There was a part of me that was a psychopath out there. I was extremely hypercompetitive every day. I didn't feel like let's get to Sunday and now it's the time...Every day is the time to give your best, even in practice." Every day your standards are either reinforced or lowered by how you treat practice. You don’t flip a switch into excellence. You rehearse it daily. 📹: Impaulsive Podcast

Something I saw in a baseball locker room that always resonated with me for years. In Baseball, as in life.

Ding… 🛎️ Ding 🛎️ Ding 🛎️ !!! The Tigers struck out the least as a team in June (of all season) and they had the best offense in baseball that month. ** So nice to see a MLB Team finally Make that significant connection! See video… Striking out hurts your offense and loses games… I’ll stand on that mountain forever. Got to put the ball in play with 2 strikes. Hard preferably, yea of course, but even softer hit contact and miss hits find holes and can be tough plays for D. But Hard “right turns” and “left turns” with a K don’t do that. No pressure put on opponents. Develop a solid 2 strike approach and fight tooth and nail to survive! Move the lineup, pass it down. Frustrate the pitcher and defense. Run up pitch counts of opponents starters. Put up crooked numbers in multiple innings. All of it… why? Because it wins. And it’s beautiful baseball to watch! @DirtBroUSA @CoachTaberM

Can we all just agree that if you’re playing college baseball at ANY level, you’re a pretty good player. It’s so hard to actually play college baseball in today’s world.
