@denvercoder I recommend spending more time helping her analyze and critique stories than shielding her from stories that you find offensive. Stories are how we collectively process our world. They're never perfect because their authors aren't. But, they still have valuable lessons.

@lavie_encode Learn to write unit tests and unit-testable code. If you have a bug that a unit test isn't catching, write one that catches it (it should obviously fail until the bug is fixed). You won't need the debugger as much if you have a good suite of unit tests.

@BeaufortAustin Is it common to use snake_case for JavaScript? Also, this code reminds me of the code in an @OReillyMedia book called Prefactoring (shop.oreilly.com/product/978059…). You might enjoy it. It's a little older, but probably still has some gems.
