Codex Updates @Codexresets_

🚨 Codex users!! Day 1 of OpenAI’s “28 Days of Improvements” GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol just got a massive speed boost 30 → ~50 tokens/sec Around 50% faster Rolling out automatically We’re already halfway to Opus 5.5 speeds What do you think day 2 we will get?

Tibo @thsottiaux

Day 1/ We have optimized the default speed to be ~50% faster across GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol through the subscription across all our products and partners using Sign in With ChatGPT (including OpenCode, Pi, Amp, Devin, ...). No changes needed on your end and this should be

Tibo @thsottiaux

Over the next 28 days, each day we’ll either ship one thing that is a clear improvement and relevant for most codex/work users or ship a full reset. Let the improvements begin.

🚨 Codex Users!! GPT-6 Astra Light is WAY too good for Codex Plus users If you’re on Plus and want to use Astra, we’ve been testing it for almost 1 hour 30 minutes… And the 5-hour window is honestly insane 20% of the 5-hour window still available after that much testing The limit almost doesn’t even feel real

🚨 GPT-6.1 Astra Update Tibo has reportedly confirmed that OpenAI won’t be launching Astra this week, with next week now looking like the more likely window. > OpenAI is expected to ship Ultrafast this week > The delay appears to be giving OpenAI more time before the next major frontier launch > If the current timeline holds, we could be looking at a serious Astra vs Fable 5.5 battle very soon So this week: Ultrafast How Fast do you want gpt-6.1 astra open ai to release?

🚨 Codex Users GPT-6.1 Sol Ultra Fast is confirmed to be coming next week If it’s actually as fast as you can't imagine, Codex users are about to have a serious upgrade GPT-6.1 Sol with Ultra Fast Will be game changer OpenAI finally fixing the speed problem

🚨 OpenAI Needs to Fix These > A genuinely stronger model than Opus 5.5 / Fable 5.5 > Giving access to every new feature to plus users > Better performance without insane pricing > Dots for Plus users > Faster GPT-6.1 Sol, especially in Work + Codex > Fair usage limits + predictable resets > Multi-chat tabs and proper project organization What did I forget guys?

What’s one thing that’s missing in codex that you wish we had?

🚨 Codex Usage is getting Worse My Astra High usage is getting eaten MUCH faster after the latest reset Before the reset: > Around 20% of my $200 plan could last more than a day > Multiple agents running throughout the day > Pretty heavy workloads Now: > Same GPT-6 Astra Sol High > Similar workload > Just a few hours in > Already at 65% usage That’s not a small difference The exact workload hasn't changed much on my side, but the amount of usage being consumed has Anyone else seeing this after the reset?

🚨 Codex users GPT-6.1 Astra Could come next week Tibo confirmed a new release is coming next week, but the actual announcement is still under wraps We already have GPT-6Asra Which is Really Good model If we get Gpt-6.1 Astra That will be insane OpenAI is cooking again

🚨 Codex users GPT-6.1 Sol just got MUCH faster I tested the speed of GPT-6.1 Sol after OpenAI fixed the slowdown, and the results are honestly insane GPT-6.1 Sol is now up to ~20% faster than it was around DevDay The model quality was already crazy now the speed is finally catching up 6.1 Sol with proper speed is a completely different experience

🚨 CODEX RESET HAS FINALLY LANDED! After hours of waiting, the Codex reset is finally rolling out Fresh limits Fresh quota Now we can actually get back to building

Tibo @thsottiaux

Reset all propagated. Enjoy.

🚨 Codex users… WHERE IS THE RESET? 😭 The codex reset was supposed to happen over an 2h ago, and all of us are still waiting I managed to burn mine down to 0%, thinking the reset was about to hit… and now nothing Where is the reset, Tibo? we’re still waiting

Global reset landing tomorrow 10am PST for all paid ChatGPT accounts. Apologies for the slow start with GPT-6.1 Sol, it's now back to running at expected speeds after the massive load spike in the first two days.

🚨 Codex users only 1 HOURS left! until the Codex usage reset The global Codex usage reset is landing at 10 AM PST If you still have plenty of usage left, this is the time to go crazy with CodeX > Build something > Run more agents > Test those crazy prompts > Push one more project How much usage do you have left now?

🚨 Codex users The GPT-6.1 Sol speed issue is getting fixed The slowdown wasn’t the model itself Sam confirmed 6.1 Sol was getting hammered by demand, which caused the speed issues: “It was the fastest-growing model ever, and was a bit slow under load. Should be much better now!” The quality was already insane Now fix the speed too and 6.1 Sol is going to be a monster🔥

Sam Altman @sama

Also, 6.1 Sol was our fastest-growing model ever, and was a bit slow under load. Should be much better now!

🚨 GPT-6.1 Sol’s ONLY One real problem The problem is the speed It’s definitely slower than the older Sol models, but you can’t deny how insanely good the model itself is The quality is seriously impressive For coding, reasoning, and agentic tasks, it feels like a massive step up Honestly, 6.1 Sol feels way better than Opus 5.5 OpenAI just needs to fix the speed and this thing

🚨 Codex users GPT-6.1 Sol medium might be WAY too good for Codex Plus users We tested it for almost 2.5 hours and the 5-hour limit barely moved 5% of the 5h window used the limit almost doesn’t feel real

🚨 GPT-6.1 sol is a good model I honestly didn’t expect to like this model this much It’s one of those releases where the performance-to-price ratio just doesn’t make sense You’re getting a level of capability that feels far above what you’d normally expect at this price It’s fast, capable, handles serious coding work, and the usage you get makes it even crazier I’ve tested a lot of OpenAI models, and Sol 6.1 might genuinely be their most impressive value release ever How is your GPT-6.1 Sol experience so far?

🚨 codex users!! We have a good and a bad news!! I used GPT-6.1 Sol at MAX and I got: - 4% weekly usage and 17% of my 5h - 2.8 Million tokens - 52 mins of work The usage is GOOD!! You can use it for a LOT of work for only $20 Now the "BAD" news It is EXTREMELY SLOW!!
