Just seen The Odyssey - It's incredible. You should see it in the cinema, in IMAX if you can. An epic that legitimately feels epic, and at the same time personal. Uniformly excellent performances and visuals, but the sound design & score are particularly extraordinary. 5 stars.

I saw Project Hail Mary yesterday: very good, 8/10. Ryan Gosling largely carries it, but Sandra Hüller is excellent and Rocky goes right to the upper reaches of the list of best non-humanoid aliens (James Ortiz does such a good job puppeteering and voicing him). Also, Ken Leung.

Just back from Cold Storage (2026) - it's fun, 7/10. Liam Neeson Liam Neesons his way through things effectively, Georgina Campbell's fun, and Joe Keery is Joe Keery. I recommend it. Would triple bill nicely with Night Of The Creeps (1986) and James Gunn's Slither (2006).

As soon as that was the final 3, the result had a tedious inevitably about it. But then, I'm very much not a fan of Liv, so that colours it for me. Also, I can't be the only one to think the Sol Snatcher looked x1000 better when she did it as a springboard off the ropes earlier.
