There's this weird thing with modern fg cats, where they act like before they showed up there was 0 fg culture, discourse, etc. Like SF2 dropped, moment 37 happened, and the sf6 came out and nothing in between. This scene has a rich, well documented history that goes way back.

Maybe if nearly all fighting games didn't release poorly (except SF6) and/or watered down gameplay in the last 15 years it wouldn't be so bad. - Non Impact - 8 Frame Fighter V - Gems X DLC x Timeout - Marvel Chun-Li's Face - Dumbgeon Fighter - Tekken back to basics 8 - Soulless Caliber - Every SNK game with bad online - DBFZ no rollback - Samsho no rollback - Avatar unfinished (at least seems fun) - Granblue no rollback - 10 years xKO - Multiverses - MK1 - Strive Online/Celestial System Like AT LEAST try to release them in a stable manner with working netcode. I don't even care if the gameplay is "not for me" at this point. It's not dooming when it's statistically just historically bad.

Sf discourse is just revisionist history. So many people hated 5, and continue to do so. This was not really the case for the other street fighters. I could and would still play 2, 3s, 4, alpha2 (not 3 cause it sucks LOL), cvs2, and 6. Theres a reason every other sf game is still played at tournaments (maybe not really alpha) but 5. Cause 5 really was that bad. Knock it off weirdos. You dont know what you are talking about.

@Espadah_ @SanfordKelly I prefer games that give the machine gun the more skilled player. Playing well = rewards, ideally. Sfv and other comeback mechanic fighters inverted that dynamic. Thats where we are fundamentally separated.

Street Fighter 4 CLEARS street fighter 5 and 6 in player and character expression. You can take 5 Super Grand Master Sagat’s Bonchan Ryan Hart Sanford Leslie SantarouMan And strip their names, you’d be able to tell who each Sagat is based on style. That’s long gone now.
