@CharlesHawn66 @VirtualJames It's as with cars or anything else. They are tools, at some point they are outdated and most get scrapped. Licky the ones that get saved in a barn.

@VirtualJames @CharlesHawn66 There are still hundreds, if not thousands in working condition, so not really urgent to force another, or is it? For example my most beloved PET is one with several modifications, holes cut, buttons added, etc. pp.

@CharlesHawn66 @VirtualJames Because it's patina showing history. Shiney refurbished pets are everywhere, visible history is getting more rare every day. We got a similar one and kept it the way it is. It was a true barn find, still with hay dust inside :)

@flatfingers0 Seriously, the Apple III had already all the attitude shown later with the Mac. No real tech documentation, functions especially designed to restrict hardware access and so on. Even latter added features to ease this (Apple III+) were again crippled. Likewise for its software.

@retrogamer128 ウイリアム・テル、単純だけど燃えますよね。私も大好きです。モバイルMZとして私はKatsumiさんのKM-Z80 midiを作りました。 x.com/yanatoku/statu… CP/Mマシン、Fuzixマシンとしても使える優れものです。ゲームにはキーボード用のタクトスイッチをもうちょっと離して配置したほうが良いです。

MZ-80K_SDを作って実機での実行が手軽になったせいでめっきり触らなくなってしまったKatsumiさんのKM-Z80 midi。 recfor.net/blog/mycom/ind… モバイルバッテリーで動かせばどこででも遊べる。ゲームをするにはキーボードの間隔がちょっと狭すぎたかも。

A fine Russian “kitchen joke” of today. I.e. not be used in public, only in the kitchen. In whisper. A pro-Putin guy pulls into a gas station and asks: - How much for gasoline? @blind_via Not really, modern IC are decades away from the time when this was a real concern. The time when CMOS was just bonded out. Today it's standard to have protective circuitry at all pins. Usually good for several kV. All safe, maybe unless you're wearing 1970 synthetic clothing.
