Not true. In no way do I believe that committed homosexual loving relationships are taught to be sub-standard by the Bible. Furthermore, I know so many others who would disagree with him, that his ‘generally agreed’ assertion is misleading at best.

Conservative and liberal scholars are generally agreed the Bible teaches that same sex sexual activity falls short of God’s purposes( as do many human activities).The latter believe there is no need to follow the Bible in this area.The Church’s teaching has also been unanimous.

CONTEMPLATION is not & cannot be a function of the external self. There is an irreducible opposition between the deep transcendent self that awakens only in contemplation, and the superficial, external self. If action is the stream then contemplation is the Spring, (T. Merton)
