Context7 started with 2 MCP tools, 2 years ago. Today, it still has 2 tools. Instead of adding fancy features, we’re focused on: - improving context quality and coverage - keeping costs low enough to maintain the free usage - giving enterprises safe context access

We gave our VS Code extension some much-needed love. You can now add your Context7 API key in the settings to get higher limits and access private repos. Let us know if you run into any issues.
Hey! Context7 author here. We don’t require a license for any type of usage. We generally recommend Pro or Enterprise for businesses that need SOC 2, SSO, or air-gapped deployments. We keep indexes and cache in AWS US, though we also work with companies that have GDPR requirements. Agents can do web search too, but in our experience it’s less efficient and more prone to hallucinations. We published a benchmark here: upstash.com/blog/context7-…
