If it's too hot in the kitchen, GTFO. The criticism wasn't even that bad, just that the traversal looked linear, action sequences were basic... pretty much common-sense complaints of the game so far. Gaming got flooded with soft lowT men and toxic women chasing ESG scores post-GamerGate. Now the AAA industry can't even take the most lukewarm criticism. I want the toxic males to be the lead in gaming development again, because this ain't it... and as they say. This is a canary in the coal mine. Likely there are many more problems with the game... I wonder what other kinds of jank and trash are in there.

I also think we have a problem, but I think it is more on the side of weak people in general. We let the weakest in to the halls of power and this is the result. Weak men are every bit as destructive to a functioning society as well. If we put in place a system that weeds out people who are unfit, then the cries are racism and injustice. At some point you just have to say, "no more grift or suicidal empathy." People can be failures.

It's starting to make sense why, throughout history, women, by and large, were prohibited from holding political power or the ability to influence the course of institutional civilizational foundations. For some, women's psychology is not optimized for the ability to look at the situation without an emotional lens. They tend to look at incidents like this through a twisted self-referential framing. That's how a woman can show sympathy to the mother who killed her children, discarding her accountability and shifting the blame to the husband, or her mental illness, etc. Even in ancient times... when Spartan women could own land and manage large estates, which is disproportionate women's power at the time... the Spartan nation state became irrelevant in about 4 to 6 generations. For reference, we are about 4-5 generations from when women gained the "right to vote" in the Western world.

Anyone who has used Twitter for over a decade can clearly tell X is in trouble. The more they lean into using a transformer-based AI recommendation algorithm, the more the "for you" feed is filled with repetitive viral slop "banger" posts. Certain people like Dr Clown PhD; I have to go to their page to look for their content because it doesn't show up on my feed anymore. So much of what you see boosted on X is the manufactured "viral trends" that exist solely to generate replies and quotes, often paired with a fake personal story that never really happened. Remember that artificial boost that pushed Japanese X posts on the for you page? That invited a certain element of "Japanese in the US" viral accounts sharing their personal experiences visiting the US. Almost all of them are fake personal stories designed for maximum engagement. Others are coordinated algorithm manipulation, often through Telegram or other 3rd party efforts that mass-reply repost in bursts to "trigger" the algorithm. Some of the other content is blatant spam, manipulation, or information/news that is completely false. Why is this happening? The Phoenix ranking system puts too much stock in things like link shares, replies, and quotes. This opens the door for the low-effort bait to be optimized for these kinds of boosts. Much like any viral trend, it burns out quickly, and even if it boosts X's usership, if you continue this long enough, people are going to nope out and quit the platform. Today's top-performing accounts are ones pushing fabricated personal stories, algorithm farmers, and even fake company-fake influencer accounts. The problem is that a lot of people are catching on to these "trends" and starting to disengage with the platform because when you get inundated with low-effort "banger" posts over and over again, it gets boring. Yes, some will even claim to run a company, or represent a company... and when you dig, that company doesn't exist or is just a website shell with no real product or merch activity. This is the second-order effect of engagement-maximizing recommendation systems... it gives a boost to the user hours, but will lead to a slow erosion of the platform's core user base. ... and that erosion seems to be already happening. Other social media platforms that have fallen into that trap followed the same path. Fast virality, then massive falloff, and then the end of the platform.
