One of the most hypnotic and relaxing things to do back in the day... On old PCs (Windows 95/98/ME and XP era), "Defrag" (Disk Defragmenter) reorganized fragmented files on your mechanical hard drive so that each file's pieces were stored in contiguous (adjacent) blocks instead of being scattered all over the disk. In other words, it cleaned up the mess that accumulated over time when you installed and deleted programs and files. This cleaning up process was supposed to make your programs run a bit faster, but I honestly couldn't tell the difference afterwards. It was apparently useful (essential according to expert advice) for old mechanical hard drives but completely unnecessary, and even harmful, on modern SSDs. I did this once every couple of weeks. Where you a defragger too?

@exQUIZitely @iamtheonewho75 This is true, but also sadly kind of independent. On PS4/PS5 you can have the disk and that makes you the clear owner, but without the day 1 patch, the games are offen worthless. So disk or not, if that infrastructure goes, so do your "physical" releases, at least mostly.
