When I first started writing content on Twitter, I didn't use any tools. However, now I use: 1) ChatGPT 2) Bard 3) Canva 4) Leonardo AI 5) Notion What tools do you use to create content for Twitter?

New Google Trend: This will change the way you write content. Back in the day when I started blogging the average result that was on page 1 of Google had 2,300 plus words. Then a few years ago it dropped down to 1,447 words. And more recently we have continually seen the word count go down. Just think about it, we love short-form content. The average TikTok user spends 95 minutes a day... consuming short content. Here’s the average word count for articles that companies are creating per industry. I bet with AI the numbers are going to get even shorter, at least in the short run.

“Which marketing channel would you start with if you lost everything and had to start from scratch?”  Answer: YouTube, but not for the reason you are thinking. I originally started my career with traditional SEO, which paid off.  But in today’s world, video helps you connect with people more than text and it’s easy to create video because we all have smartphones. Now you could in theory post the video content on any social channel, but they all have one major issue in common. The content you post is only useful for a few days. No matter how popular it is, after a few days, it typically is useless because social networks like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snap, Reddit, and X focus on giving new content views instead of old stuff. On the flip side, if you upload content to YouTube, your videos that are a year old can still get thousands of views per month. And sometimes even more.  All the content you keep adding to Youtube compounds and you can keep getting more and more traffic even if you don’t crank out as much new content. In other words, your old stuff keeps paying dividends.  That’s tough to do with any other major social network.

ChatGPT VS Bard: Which one produces more “unique” content?  We had ChatGPT crank out 1000 articles on various topics.   At the same time, we had Bard produce 1000 articles as well on the same topics that we gave ChatGPT. We then ran the articles through Copyscape to see if there was any duplicate content. Here are the stats for ChatGPT... 186 articles came back with duplicate content. That means 81.4% of the content was unique. And 18.6% of the time the content was duplicative.  Here are the stats for Bard... 149 articles came back with duplicate content. That means 85.1% of the content was unique and 14.9% of the time the content was duplicative. With ChatGPT and Bard, the majority of the time it was just a sentence or two that was plagiarized.  Sometimes a paragraph or more, but usually it wasn’t that bad.  So which one should you use to help you create content? You can use either, but Bard is less likely to produce duplicate content (at least from our test). And their dataset is more up-to-date. No matter which one you choose, make sure you modify the article and add in E-E-A-T as Google puts it. Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trust. It’s how you make your content stand out. Because no one wants to read regurgitated content.

What if all the content you read was created by AI? Imagine reading the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, BBC, or any site out there... Imagine the content purely being written by tools like ChatGPT and not modified by humans. What do you think would happen? Sure, you may not mind some of the content, but you’ll get tired of it fast. You want to read something new, fresh, insightful... something that hasn’t been talked about before. But you aren’t going to find that with AI-generated content... at least anytime soon. So why is it that marketers are focusing on creating content using AI without any human intervention to make the content new, fresh, and insightful? Just think about that the next time you create content through AI and don’t want to take the time to modify it. If you wouldn’t want to read content purely created by AI, do you think the search engines will rank it high in the long run? Do you think social sites will spread it and make it go viral? Take the time to at least modify the AI-written content. Your performance will increase in the long run.

So, does this mean marketers shouldn’t use ChatGPT to create content? No. You just have to be careful. You need to double-check for plagiarism. On top of that even if there isn’t plagiarism, you should still modify the article and add in some E-E-A-T as Google puts it. Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trust. And just keep one thing in mind when you are creating content. No one wants to read regurgitated content that is old. People want to read something fresh, new, and get insights and knowledge that they have never seen or consumed before. That’s the key to ensuring your content does well.
