My concerns: Anyone who has been in this space for a few years is familiar with the long-term debt cycle. From a risk-on/risk-off perspective, it is difficult to ignore the possibility that current developments are further confirmation of that thesis playing out—rising inflation, continued debt monetization, and gradual erosion of fiat credibility. There are several reasons this could represent another leg of credit deterioration: The bond market is weakening, pushing yields higher and increasing government debt servicing costs as a percentage of GDP. This puts pressure on growth and raises the likelihood of either tighter financial conditions or yield curve control. The AI theme may falter—not necessarily due to valuation concerns, but because of a broader loss of confidence, potentially driven by open-source disruption and increasing competition from China. There has been a surge in capital expenditures and margin debt, which adds fragility to the system. Recent price action suggests a shift in supply and demand for U.S. equities, with signs of capital rotating away from the dollar. The recent selloff may be an early indication of this trend—assuming it continues. Oil remains a key variable affecting all of the above. While it has been a false signal so far, underlying fundamentals appear to be deteriorating. Past patterns may not hold going forward. In the short term, there is also a growing sense that policy intervention may be required, as conditions appear to be aligning into a potential “perfect storm.”

@ChrisCamillo The economics of hyperscalers is changing dramatically and obviously that scares people off. They used to be full of cash now need to raise and deliver, at the risk of destroying their balance sheet… Not the same risk profile versus extracting $ selling iPhones like they used to
