Η ενίσχυση των σχέσεων μεταξύ Κύπρου 🇨🇾και Μπαχρέιν 🇧🇭, καθώς και η περαιτέρω ανάπτυξη της περιφερειακής συνεργασίας, ήταν το αντικείμενο της συνάντησης του Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας @PresidentCYP @Christodulides με τον Υπουργό Μεταφορών και Τηλεπικοινωνιών του Μπαχρέιν, Δρα Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalf. Ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας εξέφρασε την προσδοκία του για την επίσκεψη του Βασιλιά του Μπαχρέιν στην Κύπρο το 2027, επισημαίνοντας ότι θα αποτελέσει σημαντικό βήμα για την περαιτέρω εμβάθυνση της συνεργασίας των δύο χωρών. Στη συνάντηση του ο Πρόεδρος, υπογράμμισε και τη σημασία της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των κρατών της περιοχής, καθώς και τη συμβολή του Μπαχρέιν στις κοινές προσπάθειες για ενίσχυση της περιφερειακής συνεργασίας.

This visit has particular importance as we mark this year 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cyprus and Albania, while it is the second visit by an Albanian Foreign Minister to Cyprus within 12 months, following also my visit last September in Tirana. Our meeting reaffirmed the solid partnership between Cyprus and Albania. Productive discussions on: 🔹Further enhancing our bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. 🔹Regional developments with a focus on #Middle East, #Iran, #Ukraine, #Western Balkans. 🔹Latest developments with regard to the Cyprus Issue. 🔹The Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. 🔹Albania’s EU accession process. I am pleased that during the @CY2026EU we succeeded in achieving an important milestone in Albania’s accession process. Namely, the endorsement by the Council, of the Interim Benchmark Assessment Report (IBAR) on the Fundamentals. Cyprus remains a steadfast supporter of Albania’s EU path. @Albaniandiplo

Η εξαιρετική δουλειά που παρήγαγε η Κυπριακή Προεδρία του Συμβουλίου της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και ο χειρισμός του κρίσιμου ζητήματος της διεύρυνσης αναγνωρίστηκαν από τον Υπουργό Εξωτερικών της Αλβανίας κ. Ferit Hoxha, στη συνάντησή του με τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας @PresidentCYP @Christodulides στο Προεδρικό Μέγαρο. Ο κ. Hoxha χαρακτήρισε «αξιοθαύμαστη πραγματικά» την πορεία της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας, εκφράζοντας τις ευχαριστίες του προς τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας, την Κυβέρνηση και την Υφυπουργό Ευρωπαϊκών Υποθέσεων κα Μαριλένα Ραουνά, ενώ σημείωσε ότι η διαχείριση του θέματος της διεύρυνσης υπήρξε εξαιρετική και ότι η Κυπριακή Προεδρία «πέρασε τις εξετάσεις με τεράστια επιτυχία σε όλους τους τομείς». Ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας @ στη συνάντηση επανέλαβε τη βούληση για περαιτέρω ενίσχυση των σχέσεων Κύπρου και Αλβανίας και τη σταθερή στήριξη της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στην ευρωπαϊκή προοπτική της χώρας.
