Ayton at 8 million objectively good value in all seriousness. Lakers just need to upgrade and Hayes a better fit as a backup for this roster. Most teams would (probably) be fine with Ayton as a backup or co starter although he might be like DLo and collapse mentally if benched

Let me be clear: I don't want the Knicks to lose Mitchell Robinson. However, if Ayton opts in to his player option, signing and trading Mitch to the Lakers if he was planning to leave anyway, and securing Ayton as the backup 5 at 8 million isn't the worst idea.

When they both played OKC was the only team that consistently just whooped on em, didn’t play the Spurs enough healthy for a real sample but the size and athleticism stuff wasn’t a real problem for em against most teams

Defensively that also allows em to play above their head. They can play this style where they slow the pace down and play half court basketball and it kills most teams. Get some size and athleticism with it, it could mitigate the flaws
