Imagine my shock as a neurodivergent teen when I first realized that using large vocabulary and eloquent speech doesn't make you less likely to be misinterpreted, rather it adds an entirely new layer of misinterpretation I had never even realized existed in the form of people thinking you're being snobbish or condescending when you're just trying to be specific

big traumas basically get involuntarily soldered to your identity and you have to learn welding over years as an apprentice and remove it from your identity in a slow painstaking process but then you’re a way more resilient and dynamic person who knows how to weld and solder and knows you can conquer hard things with self trust and faith in oneself

Dark nights lead to dark thoughts. Our weariness paints visions of fear and sadness. I have a policy to never heed those nighttime thoughts or give them weight and when I find myself inclining to darkness, I recognize it as fatigue and go to bed!
