To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders. Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man. Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners. Long may your admirable country dominate the world. Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states. May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning. Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill. Thank God for the USA. Happy 250th. Dr. Jordan B. This @nytimes op-ed completely misses the point on the purpose of marriage and children and completely misrepresents my views in the process. The entire article is laced with viewing family through the lens of money and career as if those things bring fulfillment and purpose. When you’re on your death bed, your money and your career won’t be whispering in your ear “I love you” as you take your last breath. The material goods and fortune of this world mean nothing when we go to our eternal resting place. The author also conveniently leaves out the part of my Hillsdale commencement speech where I said “marry young, not rushed, but young.” We serve a God of order and when you live a life ordered there’s a double portion of grace. Meaning marriage first, then kids, and everything else. Timing matters because life is shorter than you might think, and you never know what could happen. The point is, don’t put it off. Don’t rush it or force it if it’s not right, but don’t put it off. I say this from a place of personal reflection. My marriage with Charlie and our babies are the biggest blessings of my life. I was 32 when I married Charlie, which in my mind is neither young to start a family or old. You just run up against statistics at that point and it just so happened to be the Lord’s timing and He still blessed us with two beautiful children. But I wish we met and were able to start our life and family together much sooner. There is no such thing as perfect timing to have kids. Financial struggles are a part of life, but the problem is a lot of Americans are self-surviving, not self-sacrificing, and they expect to live a very distinct lifestyle based on what they see online. When Charlie encouraged young people to have more kids than they can afford, he wasn’t saying to recklessly bring a child into this world and have them on welfare. He was saying children aren’t a luxury item to have once you meet a certain tax bracket threshold. You don’t need a mansion in order to build a family. It’s easy when you’re young to think that you have all the time in the world, but it’s a hard fact of life and science that that’s simply not the case. If you've met your person and you’re checking off boxes based on societal expectations of dating for a couple years, then a long engagement, then adjusting to married life before having children, you’re wasting valuable time. Getting pregnant in your late 30s and 40s is usually a lot harder than in your late 20s. Not always, but it’s a hard reality for many couples. The inverted priorities of our current culture encourages women to believe that getting married and having children are weights on an otherwise rich and carefree existence. And yet, young Americans have never felt less happy or carefree. Children are not an obstacle, they're a gift from the Lord. They give life so much more meaning than you could ever imagine. When we stop looking at marriage and children as barriers to a happy life, maybe then there’ll be progress in this country.

The best evidence that @NYCMayor Mamdani has not held a job is the fact that he is sitting on the wrong side of the desk. And listen to his words. On a day when we, and in particular, our leaders should be celebrating the 250 years of our nation’s history, he attacks us and what makes our country great. Mamdani and the Democratic Socialists are grave threats to our present and our future.

🚨#BREAKING: A man in North Carolina has been arrested after he showed up to a small-town church full of worshippers with TWO FLAMETHROWERS, crossbows, 500 rounds of ammo... ...and a notebook listing the addresses of churches and schools A church member saw him, sitting in his truck in FULL BODY ARMOR and camouflage and called 911. An OFF-DUTY police officer, working security at that church, walked straight up to that truck and confronted him. He told officers he was "law enforcement" there to enforce a smoking violation... but he was NOT law enforcement. Police say what he actually had in that truck was an arsenal: two flamethrowers, two crossbows, a launcher made to look like a handgun, over 500 rounds of ammunition, knives, duct tape, and police scanners. They disarmed him without a shot fired. Every single church needs to have SERIOUS SECURITY, this could have been a complete massacre. I haven't seen this story reported in any mainstream media, but it looks like this man was about to massacre hundreds of Christians in a church in North Carolina.

When I was Muslim, the Quran told me Pharaoh’s own wife rescued and raised baby Moses. Surah 28:9. Then I read Exodus. It’s not the wife. It’s Pharaoh’s DAUGHTER who comes to bathe at the Nile, finds the basket, and adopts him. Exodus 2:5-10. Small detail? Watch this. It’s in the Dead Sea Scrolls pre-dating Christ, John, and Mary who all use Scriptures according to the Quran. (Surah 66:12, 19:12). The New Testament, written 1,500 years after Exodus, independently confirms it: “Pharaoh’s DAUGHTER adopted him and brought him up as her own son.” Acts 7:21. So the Bible says “daughter” in the Old Testament and “daughter” in the New — two authors, fifteen centuries apart, in perfect agreement. The Quran says “wife.” This is the whole corruption test in one detail. Who raised Moses is a fixed fact. The Bible locks it in place across a thousand years. The retelling swapped it. And Moses — drawn UP out of the water to save his people — was a shadow. Israel would pass THROUGH those same waters to be saved. 1 Corinthians 10:1-2. Baby drawn out of death-water to become a deliverer. That’s a sketch of the One drawn up out of the grave to deliver us all. The Bible kept the details straight because every detail was a prophecy. Praise the Lord!

You know what shook me when I was Muslim? The story of Hosea. God tells a prophet to marry a woman He knows will betray him. She does. She runs to other men. She ends up enslaved, sold, used up, worthless to the world. And God tells Hosea to go BUY HER BACK. To pay money for his own wife who cheated on him, and love her again. Hosea 3. I thought it was the most humiliating command in the Bible. Why would any man do that? Then I realized I was the wife. I gave my heart to everything but God. I chased other masters. I sold myself cheap. I made myself worthless. And God looked at me, the betrayer, and didn’t say “you’re not worth it.” He said, “Name the price. I’m buying her back.” That’s the Gospel. God doesn’t wait for the unfaithful to come crawling back clean. He pays to redeem them while they’re still dirty. Islam told me to make myself worthy of God. Hosea showed me a God who pays to redeem the unworthy. The cross was Him naming the price. Praise the Lord.

@MikhailaFuller It really depends on the college within the university. As a business college administrator and professor, I strongly disagree that students are getting a pro-communist view. In contrast, we promote a pro-capitalist view. Businesses wouldn’t survive otherwise.

Like many others, I have been alarmed by the success of certain politicians in our country who identify as extreme socialists or communists. This is not a matter of classical liberals triumphing over standard-issue conservatives; this is the victory of people who stand athwart the fundamental principles that undergird our country. There are many reasons why I detest Communism, but I want to draw attention to just one issue of supreme importance. Karl Marx said that the first critique is the critique of religion. He meant that, before a complete re-working of the politics and economics of a society can take place, religion has to be taken down. This is because religion, as he saw it, is the “opium of the masses,” a drug taken to dull our sensitivity to the suffering caused by economic exploitation. As long as the suffering populace is lured into complacency by fantasies about God's providence and the promise of eternal life, they will never rise up and throw off their chains. But there is a second reason why the elimination of religion is of paramount significance for Marx. Communism aspires to be a totalizing system, involving the government's control over education, entertainment, communication, politics, and especially economics. What stands resolutely athwart this ambition is religion, which declares that all of these societal expressions are finally under the judgment of God. So, if you want Communism to succeed, religion has to be stamped out. If you doubt me on any of this, I would encourage you to read the recent histories of China, Russia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Venezuela. Revisit those histories and tell me I'm wrong about the attack on religion. Might I encourage my fellow believers in God not to be complacent in the face of this very troubling development in the American body politic?
