For every contentious issue we need a kind of group meetings where people who strongly disagree each explain all the ideas and experiences which have led them to where they are while those who disagree try to understand and ask respectful questions. The objectives are for everyone to feel they are heard and for everyone to know why people think differently. Somewhere at some very fundamental points there must be distinctions.
