@KobeissiLetter Crypto needs to wipe out the old projects that added zero real world value and relied on speculation and easing Fed policy in order to usher in a new wave of projects that are fundamentally sound and solving real world problems.

I have shorts open on gold, silver and MSTR right now but I do think the market is completely wrong about Fed policy moving forward. Once it becomes clear that not only are rate hikes off the table, but rate cuts are likely coming look for a major reversal in DXY and incredible opportunities to long BTC, gold and risk on assets!

The dirty little secret in crypto is that 99% of projects operate their business independent of their token. They can have tech that’s being used & revenue being generated, but without value accrual to the token it’s a glorified memecoin. Token holders do not have the same rights as shareholders in the equities market. Find projects like @geodnet that not only have PMF and growing revenue, but tokenomics that benefit token holders. 80% of revenue goes to open market buys of solana:7JA5eZdCzztSfQbJvS8aVVxMFfd81Rs9VvwnocV1mKHu and permanent burns. Open market buys bring buying pressure to support the token from fundamental value creation, independent of speculation. Permanent burns creates deflation and scarcity, similar to stock buybacks. Without this connection, you are the speculative buyer of a glorified memecoin and exit liquidity.

You have to retain some of the revenue for sure. In Geodnet’s case they keep 20% and use 80% for buybacks. There are other models being explored like a graduated model where the percentage of buybacks increase over time, allowing for more revenue to be used for early stage growth. There are also models where there is a buyback element to support the token price, but instead of a burn the tokens are retained for future growth. That could enable a dividend yield for holders that stake their tokens or other activities that promote network growth. There has to be clear communication around whatever path a project chooses and revenue has to be tied to the token. Otherwise the token is destined to go to zero over time and I have absolutely no interest in anything more than trading it. This could change if legislation eventually gives token holders traditional equity rights and projects have to file financial reports for transparency.

About a year ago, when I was asked when attention would be paid to DePIN, I predicted we would see ‘The Great Decoupling’ and that it would be the silver lining during the bear market. I believe we are seeing it happen in real time with @GEODNET and the solana:7JA5eZdCzztSfQbJvS8aVVxMFfd81Rs9VvwnocV1mKHu token. CT is dead, everyone’s given up, and the speculative buyers are gone, yet $GEOD is up 70% over the past three months and showing incredible strength. While the rest of the market lives and dies with market sentiment & speculation, @GEODNET has a buyer that doesn’t care about any of that; their customers that rely on the network everyday for their business. 80% of revenue generated is used for open market buys and burns. The blueprint is there. Watch for the other projects that follow their path.

Disagree. Pumpfun is one of the reasons $SOL did as well as it did in this market cycle IMO. We need more protocols transacting on the network in order for $SOL to hit new ATH. Preferably ones solving real world problems and adding real value. Tokenized stocks could be a big one.

@BobGroyp As much as I would love for $HNT to recover, I’m not super optimistic about it given the recent events. I publicly divested in January when they discontinued the HM buybacks. Hopefully I’m wrong though!

Physical AI is going after the $50T labor market. Smart money is already positioning, and some of the best investment opportunities will emerge out of this sector in the coming years. Where will those opportunities be? If you look at outperformance in the markets today, while AI has stolen the show, the bottlenecks tied to AI are where the best returns have been (memory and semiconductors). One clear bottleneck that’s on the horizon when it comes to physical AI/robotics is real world training data. European robotics manufacturer Neura recently partnered Amazon. Entities that have a moat and the ability to collect this data at scale in a verifiable way will thrive. They are cutting it very close with the CLARITY Act. At this point I would be pretty surprised if they are able to get alignment on everything and get a floor vote done as we head into the midterms. The major hold up at this point has to do with ethics and preventing Trump and his family from profiting more from crypto than they already have. Hopefully the $2.4B they’ve extracted already is enough and they get this thing done. If not, it could be 2030 before there’s another chance to get this legislation passed. Tick tock.

For 2 years in a row, I named @GEODNET my project of the year. The fundamentals have not only been incredibly strong, but there is also direct value accrual from generated revenue to the token. Central banks reported buying 16 tonnes of gold last quarter. The World Gold Council, tracking the actual metal through refineries, puts the real number near 244, roughly fifteen times the official figure. And the buying surged into the worst gold crash since 2013. Gold fell about 24 percent from its January peak of 5,589 dollars an ounce, on a surging dollar, an oil-driven inflation shock, and a Fed pricing out every rate cut. Western investors read it as the top. Goldman cut its target. Gold ETFs bled for a month and the headlines turned bearish. The official sector did the opposite. A record 45 percent of central banks now plan to add gold to their own reserves, the highest reading in the survey's history. 89 percent expect global official gold to keep rising. 74 percent expect the dollar's share of reserves to fall. They bought the crash at the highest conviction ever recorded. The number the press watches is the wrong one. The gold market financial media tracks is Western ETF flows, and they have become a rounding error. This month's celebrated Western ETF recovery was 5 tonnes. Central banks have averaged 1,000 tonnes a year for four years, double the prior decade. One side trades the headline. The other sets the trend, and does not sell. There is a reason the buying is quiet and relentless at once. Gold is the one reserve asset no government can freeze, no issuer can switch off, and no settlement system can reject. After 2022 proved that dollars and bonds can be made unusable by decree, the assets that cannot be revoked became the ones worth holding. Buying them openly signals the intent to leave, which invites the exact pressure you are hedging against. So the biggest reshaping of reserves in a generation is running mostly unreported, quarter after quarter. The crash did not break the gold thesis. It sorted the holders. Price-sensitive Western money sold into the decline. Price-insensitive sovereigns bought it at record conviction. The weak hands set the price. The strong hands set the direction. Ownership stopped meaning control in dollars and bonds. Gold is the one reserve asset where it still does, and central banks are buying it faster than they will admit.
