Current models are too vulnerable to prompt injection to handle this safely. But once secure, we reach a fascinating milestone: an active proxy executing your will, one that actually gets smarter and more capable every year after you are gone.
Endowed with its own wallet to autonomously pay for its server hosting, the agent acts as a functional extension of you. It handles edge cases and makes judgment calls bounded by the parameters you set before death.
Within 5 to 10 years, we expect to see AI agents acting as dynamic executors. Instead of blindly following a rigid script, an agent trained on your values could monitor protocol safety or select a new charity based on your preferences.
Right now, a smart contract can act as a dead man’s switch. It can automatically route DeFi yields to a charity once death is verified. But contracts are brittle. If the protocol gets hacked or the charity shuts down, the logic breaks.
A major thesis we are tracking: the shift from static smart contracts to posthumous AI agents. In the near future, digital inheritance will not just transfer assets, it will preserve a deceased person's active intent.
