Every PCB engineer has used, or tried to use, an autorouter. Almost none would hand a real board to an autoplacer. Placement is the one decision routing cannot undo. Put a power IC 2mm too close to a sensitive analog front end and no routing cleverness fixes the coupling. The geometry is already wrong. It stayed manual not because the math is hard, but because the intent lives nowhere the tool can read it. That is the part worth solving.

The moment Cooper clicked: we stopped making changes one at a time. Just type. Mark these nets as a differential pair, add a ground plane, widen this net trace, then route the high-speed nets first.
