@ricwe123 Some US diplomats went to Africa with mining execs. They brought French translators, had a 30 minute meeting, and were happy, until they saw the Chinese delegation waiting. The Chinese diplos. walk up, shook hands and started speaking an African language. Their meeting took 2 hrs

उदयपुरको भाइरल पुलबारे। ट्वीटरमा उदयपुरको त्रिजुगा नदीको पुलमाथि झोलुङ्गे पुलको फोटो फेरि भाइरल भएछ । त्यसका केही तथ्य र विवरण उदयपुरको चौदण्डीगढी नगरपालिका–५ सिवाई र बेल्हा जोड्ने गरी त्रियुगा नदीमा निर्माण गरिएको पक्की पुल यतिबेला बेवारिसे अवस्थामा छ। ११ करोडभन्दा बढी लगानीमा निर्माणको अन्तिम चरणमा पुगेको उक्त पुल बाढीले एक पिलर भसाएपछि अहिले दुइ स्पान नदीमा खसेकाे अवस्थामा छ । २०६६ सालमा शिलान्यास भएको उक्त पुलको निर्माण महालक्ष्मी/लोकप्रिय जेभी कन्स्ट्रक्सन, कलंकी, काठमाडौंले गरेको थियो। ३०७ मिटर लम्बाइ र २५/२५ मिटरका १२ स्पान रहेको उक्त पुल २०७७/०७८ सम्ममा निर्माण सम्पन्न हुने अन्तिम तयारीमा थियो। काठमाडौंको बालाजुस्थित स्वाइल कन्सल्टेन्सी कम्पनीले डिजाइन र माटो परीक्षण गरेको सो पुल निर्माणको अन्तिम चरणमा पुग्दा नै प्राविधिक कमजोरीको सिकार बन्यो। दुई दिनसम्म परेको अविरल वर्षाका कारण २०७८ असार १९ गते शनिबार दिउँसो उक्त निर्माणाधीन पुलको सिवाईतर्फको एक पिलर भासिएर दुईवटा स्पानमा क्षति पुगेको थियो। बनेन पक्की पुल, फेरियो झोलुङ्गे पुलमा चौदण्डीगढी नगरपालिकाका वडा नम्बर ५, ९ र १० का नागरिकलाई नगरको केन्द्रसँग जोड्ने यो पुलको विकल्प नहुँदा स्थानीयले निकै सास्ती खेप्नुपरेको छ। यो समस्या समाधानका लागि स्थानीय जनप्रतिनिधि र राजनीतिक नेतृत्वले पटक-पटक पहल गरे। २०८० साउन १४ गते डा. नारायण खड्कासहितको प्रतिनिधि मण्डलले तत्कालीन भौतिक पूर्वाधार तथा यातायातमन्त्री प्रकाश ज्वालालाई भेटेर पुल पुनःनिर्माणका लागि ज्ञापनपत्र बुझाएको थियो। उक्त अवसरमा मन्त्री ज्वालाले एक वर्षभित्र पुल निर्माण सम्पन्न गर्ने आश्वासन दिएका थिए। तर, मन्त्रीको त्यो आश्वासन आश्वासनमै सीमित रह्यो। पुलको स्थलगत अनुगमन गरिए पनि पुनःनिर्माण हुने कुनै छाँटकाँट नदेखिएपछि स्थानीय निराश बने। अन्ततः पक्की पुल निर्माणको सम्भावना टरेपछि वैकल्पिक व्यवस्थाका लागि पहल थालियो। कोशी प्रदेशका प्रदेश सांसद राजन किराँती ‘बासु’ को विशेष पहलमा कोशी प्रदेश सरकारबाट करिब ६० लाख रुपैयाँ विनियोजन भयो। सोही बजेटबाट भाँचिएको पक्की पुलकै स्थानमा झोलुङ्गे पुल निर्माण गरिएको छ। सांसद किराँतीले नै शिलान्यास गर्नुभएको उक्त झोलुङ्गे पुल अहिले स्थानीयको लागि आवातजावतको मुख्य सहारा बनेको छ। अहिले सोही झोलुङ्गे पुलमार्फत विद्यार्थी, बिरामी, दैनिक उपभोग्य सामग्री ओसारपसार गर्नेदेखि मोटरसाइकल र साइकलयात्रीसम्मले वारपार गर्ने गरेका छन्। तर, यो विकल्पले ठूला सवारी साधन र आपत्कालीन अवस्थाका लागि पक्की पुलले दिने सुविधा दिन सक्दैन।स्थानीयहरू भन्छन्, "झोलुङ्गे पुलले केही सहज त भएको छ, तर यो समस्याको स्थायी समाधान होइन। राज्यले केही वर्षअघि भत्किएको पक्की पुलको विषयमा गम्भीर छानबिन गरी छिटोभन्दा छिटो नयाँ संरचना निर्माण गर्नुपर्छ।"

Did you know? The last time DR Congo participated in the Football World Cup, its players were terrified for their lives. The year was 1974. DR Congo, or Zaire as it was called back then, was ruled by a corrupt brutal dictator, Mobutu Sese Seko. He brazenly used football for his own personal propaganda. In 1974, Zaire became the first Sub-Saharan country to qualify for the World Cup. But they lost 9-0 to Yugoslavia in a group stage game. Mobutu was furious. He sent a direct message to the team: If they lost to Brazil by 4 or more goals, the players would not be allowed back in the country and they would never see their families again. Zaire barely hung on to a 3-0 defeat. However, after returning home, the government abandoned football, and many of Zaire's players spent the rest of their lives in abject poverty. Over 50 years after the tragedy, DR Congo qualified for the World Cup in 2026. Many of their players have grown up in exile because their parents managed to escape a decades-long civil war that has killed 5 million till date. And the players put on an electrifying performance in the World Cup. Unfortunately, they are knocked out, but not before making England sweat for their victory. They may be headed home, but not before replacing the ghosts of 1974 with pure inspiration. #FifaWorldCup2026

Another problem inherited by the RSP govt. Nepal has been producing 20K metric tons of tea annually since 2012-13, 14yrs ago. Close to 95% of this tea is exported solely to India who have been consistently imposing constraints in it's import there.+

Hosting a Football World Cup is such a beautiful opportunity to bring people together. For Americans, it's an opportunity to showcase how stupid and ignorant they are. After Bosnia and Herzegovina qualified for the round of 32, a broadcaster "joked" that she could not point out where it was on the map. Leave aside the obvious problems with that joke. Bosnia and Herzegovina is the kind of story a broadcaster dreams to talk about. Their participation in the World Cup goes beyond football. The country came into existence in 1992 after declaring independence from Yugoslavia, and was immediately subjected to a genocide, turning football grounds into graveyards. The serbian leadership within Yugoslavia wanted to create a greater Serbia. The independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina went against that idea, leading to an armed conflict. The Bosnian Muslims and Croats were at the receiving end of it. More than 1 Lakh killed. Two million displaced. The violence finally concluded in 1995. But the Dayton Accord, the peace agreement brokered by the US, left Bosnia and Herzegovina a fractured and polarised society. It established Bosnia and Herzegovina as a single state containing two autonomous entities: The Bosniak-Croat Federation and the Serb-majority area. For a country marred in daily political tug of war, their journey so far at the World Cup is nothing short of historic and full of hope. It is potentially a cross-ethnic uniting force in a divided country. To miss all of that and reduce them to a country you can't find on the map is simply pathetic.

Football is exceptionally cruel. Ivory Coast completely outplayed Norway today.
