This account got more ‘serious’ over time. I thought I had a ‘responsibility’ as followers started to include government officials and their assistants. But I think we have to realize we live in an age that is disjointed, ridiculous, grotesque and hilarious. And lean into it.
One of the silliest legacy grifts in American defense is reliance of @DeptofWar on RAND and a small coterie of incumbent think tanks for wargaming. These partnerships may have made sense in the 1950s, but simulation and scenario expertise is now widely distributed and the Pentagon would benefit from many different approaches. DOW should be cultivating newer players in the space and providing clearance to new pools of talent beyond the usual defense priesthood. DARC bets that a few insane Jane Streeters doing this as a side hobby would go much, much further than what we're currently getting for the money.
